Default Aff 2011

On the news it has just been announced that NT are removing the 130 limits and going back to open zones.

What is your first thought:

P.S. I made this up....

Damnit flappist you got me excited for a second!

How foolish can i be I should know by now that It'll never happen.

Oh well, anything over 130kmph would have the diesel revving very hard so it doesnt really matter in personal matters as i wouldnt push it.
But it could possibly mean the end of fatigue on that stretch which is very good.

Damn long thoughts...

Me to, lived out at Howard Springs for 7 years, left 2 years before it was canned...

It was amazing how you just got used to the high speeds, then you hit a state border and it felt like walking....

My first thought would be that you wouldnt catch me dead in the NT. No offense to anyone who likes/lives the NT.

Other than that, option 2 would be the most logical course of action. However I think only the beer would prevail, as our dear government is not known for doing anything remotely sensible.

Start a thread on AFF complaining about Ford

Worth starting a thread about how Ford are falling behind on development of 400+km/h cars and how they need to hurry up before Holden captures the market.

Smile Re: Aff 2011

The first speeding ticket I ever got was in the NT. It was a section of highway between Katherine and Darwin that was lowered from the open limit to 100km/h.

Needless to say, I was doing more than I was allowed too.

When questioned by the local constabulary as to why I was doing the speed I was, I mearly explained why.

"I live in W.A. and the only time I can go faster than the W.A. limit of 110km/h is when I cross the border."

He agreed to a certain point, but still fined me nevertheless, which I was willing to go and pay as soon as I reached Darwin.

This is the only time I have ever been fined or caught exceeding any speed limit anywhere.

The open roads of the Northern Territory are a great place to explore the upper echelons of one's vehicle.

Well.............they used to be.

Until someone in a high place decided otherwise.....................

There's this black soil road from Avon Downs up to the Brunette Race Course - I bet they don't patrol that one. Black soil is an excellent high speed surface.......
