it'd probably work if you got the complete drivetrain and loom from a BF xr6t?!?!
probably cheaper to just buy XR6T ute, if you can stand to having a BA.

Not sure how well it would fit. With dual overhead cam and the dual VCT controllers up front I think you would have overhead clearance issues with the way the AU bonnet swoops down at the front.
Have never tried this however but just a thought. |

Your AU ECU can't control the engine so you will need something aftermarket which will make it need engineering to pass emmissions (which it probably won't anyway). Apart from that there are mechanical fitting problems for various bits including the intercooler. Sell your ute and buy a BA or BF, it will be HEAPS cheaper and not a huge mechanical and potentially legal headache. |

I thought about doing this conversion too but decided just build an angry n/a motor. (Don't like the idea of the snort kits either) |

Just call up snort performance. They will hook you up.

Sticking a ba turbo motor complete conversion in would not be that hard at all.dont let one of the early posts scare you into not even looking into it further.
They stick quad cam V8s in Territorys ffs lol. |

Its been done before in an Au.
Its been done in an EL. Its been done in an XF. Anyone that says it cant be done or is too hard, doesnt know what they are talking about. The only real consideration is how much money do you have? |

you know what, theres an easy way round this with a little left of centre thinking. Plenty of people do BA front end conversions on their AU. You could go about it the other way... stupid, but a practical solution to the problem youve raised

just turbo the AU motor and change a few internals? would probably be better off cost wise and see more performance?

drive in drive out 7K here for a B series turbo motor ready to pass at a VIS using the B series computer which passes all the emission issues.
so if you do it your self and know a thing or 2 probably not that much if you can find a rear end smashed turbo car. |
