Default Keyed the misses' new car

The girlfriend has been working her little toosh of recently putting in a lot of hours so she can enjoy the finer things in life. I hinted that her current Holden Astra has seen a few too many KM's and the cost of fixing things will soon out way the cost of servicing a new car. So she decided to get a brand new 2012 Mazda 3 Neo in the colour she loves. It's perfect for her as it's small, got all the extra lil features girls love and good on fuel. Needless to say after a total of 428 km, while visiting her mother for the night in Ballarat, some scumbag, for no reason has run his key over 5 panels from front to back (between the yellow dots). He/she didn't do a half a*s job either. It's nice and deep and completely devastated the poor girl.

What runs through peoples heads to do this ****? As mentioned both of us work hard for things we like, then this happens. I'm more annoyed at the fact that I'll never see the low life who did this, cause if I did, they'd be looking at the pretty white and blue paintwork on the side of the ambulance as they get loaded into it. Just thought I'd have a rant with people that understand. Now to find a good panel shop so the misses likes her car again.!

Sure its a key?
It looks deeper on the areas where the panels flare out, ie. wheel arches, and appears to run through the gaurd repeater.

Could it have been a stray branch hanging out from a bush etc?

I can't stand this! Sympathies to your missus and also to you because I feel your disappointment too. Where was this parked at the time?? Shops, street, driveway?

Makes you question whether having nice things is worth it.

What a sad world we live in.

if you work hard enough for it, damn right it's worth it - why let them win?

It was on the side of a quiet street in Ballarat for the night. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just people see something nice, new and shiny, and have to ruin it for someone else. I feel more for her because she doesn't feel like its a new car anymore, after two weeks. I was hoping that feeling last for at least 18 months.

Nah wasn't a stray branch or bush, was perfectly fine when she went inside for the night, then evident in the morning, on the side facing the road...

Why was the passenger side facing the road??? It's the drivers side that faces the road of a legally parked car. Only speculating, but was the car parked up on a footpath or facing the wrong way on the side of the road???

If yes that could be the cause of someone deciding to 'teach her a lesson' in parking etiquette. Not that that would be an excuse, and the person causing the damage should still be strung up by their balls.

Totally feel for you mate my boss 315 got keyed a month ago...and I know who has done it because she has a habit of keying peoples cars, not only that but she left a ridiculously racist letter on my windscreen, unfortunately she’s schizophrenic so the cops said there’s nothing they can do about it. Even though the whole suburb of Balmain has made complaints to the police & housing commission about her. I am so ****ed off she got away with it. And yes mate it was a huge deep mark from the headlights all the way to the boot.

That's worse chief, Boss 315 are a lot more expensive then a Mazda 3 Neo... Plus you know who did it? So does that mean your not allowed to press charges because she has a screw loose? Worse case scenario just get enough out of her to get it resprayed or whatever is required to get it back to normal.

Then retaliate... HARD...

The misses cracked it this morning, so she wanted a lift to the train station, because she just wanted a break from her car. She hasn't been on a train in years. I don't mind though, I get to give the 6T a little early morning squirt after letting her warm up (as men do).

I wouldnt want ot approach her mate apparently she kicks peoples dogs, gouges eyes & murdered her husband..a real character so im staying away from her. $1600 later got my car back looking new a couple of weeks ago. $1600 couldve been used elsewhere!!!

its affected me day-to-day as im scared to park my car near her place incase it happens again so i have to park it a good 15 minutes walk away

As you know Brent it's only an '09 XR6 so with $16k damage I was told it would likely be written off, yet at the last minute they decided to repair it, doesn't bother me either way. It needs a full respray outside and inside as the stripper leaked inside the doors, new headlights, tail lights, door seals, outer B pillar trims, fog lights, windscreen, bonnet, wheels alone cost over 5 grand from Ford. Lucky the XR6T wasn't home at the time, I would have lost my mind if they touched that car.

It would be very close to a write off as trade in value would be about that price.

Too much of this is happening and it's everywhere all over Australia. People these days get jealous of other people. And do stupid things to try and make them unhappy. Instead of making a go of things themselfs, they rather try and make everybody as miserable as them.

makes me cringe to see stuff like this - pathetic wannabees who will never be... and dont they know it. Scradley6666 tell your missus that she is above the low lifes who did this. Be proud that you can repair your car and have it back to an as new state. Because those who did it will never ever ever have anything as nice in their lives, and dont they know it

The XR6 is just a daily drive, luckily my XR6T wasn't around when it happened. It seems to be going around, a friend of mine in the next suburb over copped exactly the same treatment a couple of months ago.

I'm waiting for the wheels to show up on eBay

Taking it to a local panel shop as we speak, see how much it will set me back. On the bright side, it's brand spanking new, so the paint isn't faded and should be easy to obtain, no matching or the like... I don't know much about paintwork but here goes. It goes from the headlight to the rear quarter panel... Ill let u know how it all goes.
