I was in a prang yesterday and my wife said she felt the seatbelt pull her into the seat. So I reckon this must have been the pre-tensioner working. Did a fantastic job in that although it was not a major hit, and no one of the bags went off, we felt secure and safe. But what I was wondering was are they a once only device and do they get replaced after use?

Yeah, I think they are actually a little charge of some sort, like a canister of compressed air. You would assume that if that was correct they would need replacing once blown?
