Pretty sure Russell posted a thread on the new Fiesta coming,
I remember something about the 1.0 Ecoboost replacing the diesel option.

Same reason movies used to take ages to get here. Behind the times useless local dealers. People looked elsewhere with movies and if you're selling two year old car technology people will look elsewhere there too. It'll change eventually, it's change or go broke these days.

Please explain how a manufacturers local vehicle release date is controlled by the dealer and what makes the dealer useless when they can only sell what the manufacturer provides?

Local Dealer = Ford Australia not local Ford shop

You obviously have no idea how the auto industry actually works.

Because our Fiestas and Focus' are made in Thailand, who up until now did not make ecoboost engines.

I'd still like to see one of those 1ltr Ecoboost engine/gearbox units put into a classic Mini body...

I think that's a shame. 'One Ford' is supposed to be just that - the Focus and Fiesta made in Thailand should be exactly the same as those made in Europe and North America. The fact that it isn't is disappointing.

Focus with 1.0 and 1.6 Ecoboost would be absolutely fantastic, and Kuga desperately needs the 2.0 Ecoboost.

The WS (German import) and the WT (Thailand import) are almost the same. The WS has a slightly better build quality and better interior quality if you look closely though.

The price didn't change oddly . Good news is that the ST is coming from Germany.

As the owner of a WS Fiesta, I have to say that if this is true it really doesn't say much for the WT

Not happy with the fit and finish of your Fez? We've had two WS Fiestas and both were/are fantastic throughout. Tight as a drum.

Engine line ups are gradually being rationalized across the Ford world, however depending on the country of manufacture some models may miss out on engines or get slightly different versions depending on local taxes etc

There is no 1.0 diesel, I even checked the European Fiesta brochure, the smallest diesel offered in the european Fiesta is the 1.5 TDCi engine, the largest is the 1.6 TDCi engine.

The only 1.0 engines in the European Fiesta are the 1.0 EcoBoost (offered in two levels, 74kW and 92Kw) and the naturally aspirated 59kW version of the 1.0 3-cylinder engine (48kW offered in some markets).

And the new 1.5 litre is gradually replacing the 1.6 litre, not a big change in capacity but much more tech.
