Mustang is a sow's ear....
I dont think ford want it to be a silk purse.
You get what you pay for. Most local ford buyers wont be diappointed , we've had interiors full of cheap plastics for decades.
If it goes like stink and looks half as good on the road as it does in pics it will be a good car.

Pagani Huayra may still be available for those looking for some better interior trim than Mustang.........

On this occasion I'd also agree - going by the pic in the review the interior looks pretty average, to be kind. Haven't seen it in the flesh though, and on a car like this doubt it would be a deal breaker for most buyers.

From memory some of the reviews on the GT-F's interior said it was dated and hadn't changed since the ark (my words

) but that's OK cause I have been around that long too and love it

different strokes and all that

I love when people complain about the interior materials of a performance car. The reviewers really should rate the performance of interiors along with acceleration, handling, and braking.

Its a XR8/SS equivalent. A base performance model. GT can do a high 12/flat 13 quarter which is still fairly decent.

What gets me on these sorts of reviews is the Jurno's forget manufacturing is a matter of compromise.

Yes Ford could build a mustang with the same performance levels and the interior quality of a euro lux model. But then it would cost the same as a BMW M3 or AMG63

The fact its a 50K car means you have to trae off a few things in this case they choose to trade off better mechanical hardware at cost of plastics and switches

I imagine people who do car reviews spend 90% of the time rubbing up against all the plastic inside the car. I don't understand the obsession with 'hard plastics'.

Still looks good to me, and as for the burn out feature being disabled, who cares? Pretty sure people have been doing burnouts long before there was an app for it built into cars.

I agree hard plastic looks a bit cheap and tacky, but another factor of plastics- what is critical is durability in our climate. I remember soft Alfa dashboards which looked great new, but then delaminating and splitting some 4 years from new in hot climates.

The Falcon FG and FGX XR8 dashboards are hard plastics, but I suspect they will be very durable over a long period.

This may not be a factor if you plan to only keep the car for 3 years and then roll over.

if i was buying a sporty 2 door muscle car, pretty cabin plastics would be pretty low on the priority list .
he mentions the faux hide
doesnt the tesla use faux hide ?

burn out feature ..... dont want it, not interested, thank you very much.

The interior could be better.

Still you have to accept the car is built cheap in the US and that’s what you get for that price point there and as already said, owners aren’t buying them for their interiors.

There are other cars you could purchase if interiors are your priority.

That's right, an equivalently priced European car such as a BMW 318i has an all alloy 306kw V8 and Brembos. D1ckh3ad...

For 57 grand, you get a mediocre 306 kW and 530nm. Give me any FG F6 FG GT 335 version, even the GS 315 will all destroy this mustang and all have the lovely ZF. What's the mustang gearbox?
Is it pretty on the outside? Yes. Who cares about plastics and Sh,t, I thought we were getting some real muscle that can replace what we already have.
This is some kind of bad dream.

If the interior is crap then its crap, why shouldn't the reviews say so. Its up to the reader to decide if its a deal breaker, or if for the price thats fair enough.

Would you guys have all reviews that "say interior is good for the price point", "steering feel is good for price point", "stereo is good for price point"

Like it or not as a general rule in the manufacturing world, price point will dictate what you get.

I tend to think a fair price for the Aussie spec Mustang would have been in the high 40k region.

Exactly. People want everything, but don't want to pay for it.

If the Mustang was more expensive, but had a better interior, everyone would be complaining that it's to expensive.

If you want a V8 coupe with a luxury interior, buy a 10 year old Euro for double the price of the Mustang.

I've got no problem with someone saying the Mustang interior looks cheap, as long as they acknowledge why it looks that way. First, cheap is relative, but Ford puts its money into engine, suspension, and brakes on the Mustang. That's why it offers BMW performance at a Ford price.

But I still don't understand (possibly because I'm a cheap American) the obsession with dashboard plastics in a performance car. When I'm driving I don't longingly gaze at or lovingly caress the dash. I hit the gas, shift the gears, turn the wheel, and apply the brakes.
