This post is a bit of a product release and a thank you shout out.
For everyone's benefit, there is a new Century battery available to suit most (if not all?) modern Falcons. The new battery - 67EF MF is a update of the traditional 67 and 67EF. The 67EF MF is maintenance free, increases CCA to 640 and has a few internal revisions for greater longevity. Importantly it is still Australian made. I've been chasing one since hearing about their existence for a specific fitment in a custom battery box. Thanks to forum member Big Damo and his business R&D Auto Electrics (sponsors the AFF drag event!), who managed to source me what is probably the first one ever sold. So if you are looking to replace a battery and you're in Melbourne or NE Vic, hit him up for a good deal. Might be worth liking his Facebook page for any updates on new products: https://www.facebook.com/RDAutoElectrics/

Didn't know they were made in Aus. Does the EF code mean it was designed for EF Falcon?

Where the original Motorcraft batteries in a Falcon even made in Australia?
Probably Chinese... |

Can certainly vouch for Damo and Rob. Did a great job wiring up a light bar on my old car and will be back there soon getting some new spotties wired up on the new rig.

Exide used to supply Australian-made batteries fitted at manufacture. I'm not sure who make the Motorcraft-branded ones buyable over the parts counter.

The difference between the 57 and the 57EF is that the 57 has a foot at the bottom of the battery to clamp down a hold down clamp to where as the 57EF has no foot at the bottom and it gets held down across the top. Quote:

The current over the counter Motorcraft batteries the Ford dealerships are selling are a Century battery with Motorcraft stickers, but its not the locally made Century stuff I believe. For those of you interested in the range I carry: I've got the second largest stock of Century batteries in Victoria, there is one other workshop in Horsham who has a bigger range than me but they carry more agricultural/truck stuff than I do. Anything that's blue and yellow is made up in Brisbane except for one or two of the European (DIN) style black case batteries. I'm going to run a massive sale on my existing stock up until the 15th of August to prepare for the new product launch so anyone who is in the North/North Western burbs of Melbourne who doesn't mind a drive to the Macedon Ranges needs a new battery keep an eye on my Facebook page because there will be some very good deals. I want those four racks cleared so there are some good savings to be had. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support, I really appreciate it. |

Seeing as you are a battery guy I wonder if you can help
I am struggling here in the UK to obtain a 52ah 520cca battery which will fit inside the battery box on my BA Pursuit. I have obtained a Bosch S5 001 (063 is the same) battery which has the required amps, but because of the feet it doesn't fit in the box. Yes, I can chop the feet off, but in addition the terminals reside at the front of the battery and therefore the negative cable will not reach it, the positive cable has a little more flexibility and is ok. Do you have a note of the correct battery codes etc for an EU/UK manufacturer so as I can put this problem to bed Thanks very much |

If it wasnt such an issue for me i would have used them for my car a few weeks back when the battery decided to crap itself.

Another person from AFF came to me for a Century 67EF, I've got one left for $143 including GST.
If you live/work in Melbourne I may be able to organise freight through a courier to your work or house door but freight will be extra. |

Sorted. Unbelievably it appears you guys down under have your own particular size of battery - I assume it must be because you are special Went for a UK/Euro 014 battery (the closest to specs and size) made by GS (a subsidiary of Yuasa of which your Century is also a subsidiary) which is 60AH and 450CCA (as opposed to required 52AH and 520CCA). Battery is slightly taller so I made myself a new securing bracket. CCA's is down on book specs but to be honest it only travels 500 or so Summer K's per annum this so shouldn't be a problem. It's hooked up to a battery maintainer all other times Anyways, all done Last edited by UKFPV; 20-08-2016 at 07:32 PM. |

To show your photo without others needing to go into your photobucket account, just copy the IMG link (the bottom one) on the right next to your photo. Then you can show everyone how clean your engine bay is. Last edited by Silver Ghia; 20-08-2016 at 07:53 PM. Reason: Photo deleted as there is no need for it now |

Holden Captiva diesel is one of the odd ones here locally, its got a taller version of the battery in a PX Ranger, with the positive post on the opposite side, good for just over 900CCA.
Its one of those ones that none of your major over the counter suppliers carry stock of either. |

Otherwise SCA, Repco and Bursons sell Century products, you might get a better deal from the small players though. |
