Ford need to do a low ride auto ranger. Hilux is the only one that offers low autos. If they do they would overtake hilux comfortably

The development that goes into them couldn't be a fraction of what goes into a normal passenger car. Old school tried and tested ladder frame, whack a masculine body on top, pull some tech of the corporate shelves - done! Driving dynamics and handling? Doesn't matter! The overall spec level is down as well, drum brakes one the back, spartan interiors. They're all built in Thailand, shipped over here with zero taxes, and they still cost close to $60k. The new V6 Amarok is pushing $80k! Plus we're talking about the highest selling segment = mega mega huge crazy profits all round! |

They still all should be 10k cheaper if you ask me based on what you get.

The driving dynamics and tuning of the suspension is really very good ( all points considering ) in the best rated of these 'utes'. I've driven a new Ranger and it isn't a bad daily drive ! It's no Territory, but for many, it'll do just fine. These body on frame vehicles have come a long way in 10 years. |

I'm actually glad the Mondeo is matching the Mazda 6...considering the Mazda markets it more then Ford markets the Mondeo...room for improvement there however.

Don't think so : If people are looking at a towing capacity : Mondeo can only tow 1600kgs.. Falcon is 2300kgs...but we can only hope ....

Especially with families that have two cars, one can be the run around and the other the 'duties' vehicle. |

Well we just sold a new Mondeo to a customer that has always bought Falcons. Doesn't tow. So maybe they will

Mondeo with its 1600 capacity is plenty for the average 6x4 trailer they will likely ever tow

Ok, I get that this is a Ford forum but why do we pray for the success of Ford after the end of Australian manufacturing?
I know manufacturing will likely never return here, but why prove to Ford they made the right choice and that something like a Mondeo is a suitable replacement for a Falcon? |

And because it's a Ford. It's like footy, once you follow a team, you don't jump ship. I like all Fords, I don't care where they come from as long as it's a Ford. Ecosport aside, the current Ford offerings in each class are at or near best in class. Here's to continued success for the blue oval Quote:

Really? Maybe better than a BF Fairmont but an FGx G6E still trumps a Mondeo.

The falcon has soul, and my fgx g6et was cheaper faster and more comfortable. The seating position is fine for my 6ft 110kg, I actually have skill in driving where I can park, and view my blindsots by turning my head as well as control the cruise control either by my foot or finger. I'm quite proud of it. Will mondeo spares, fixes, and forums be around for decades? No. The work mondeo I put a few kms on was as souless and lacking in character as a camry. Sure they are great appliances, do their designed function well, but just like a busted toaster you throw it out and get a new one. It doesn't feel part of the family and no kids go to high school graduations in first gen camrys.
