I'm not sure how this thing escaped the clutches of Ford Aus. It is a December 2007 FG G6E Turbo Prototype! It appears there is some issue with the compliance plate decal, as the computer chucked a wobbly when the car came down the line ready to receive it. It might have had a proper label attached on top and then later removed. The paint in the door jam near the stickers appears to be redone very poorly with massive tape edges. Just looking at the engine bay I can see several anomalies against production vehicles - - Plastic intake muffler delete pipe with host joiner locater (pre-pro part) - Difference in the crossover to airbox pipe - Clamps on BOV aren't spring type - Thermostat housing has relief pipe to header - PCM looks thicker? Very interesting stuff.. Last edited by FPV414; 29-06-2021 at 09:26 PM. Reason: Incorrect link |

She'd be pretty bloody tired and worn out I reckon.

Brakes don't look like high series either.

Yeah i was going to say they looked tiny. Can’t be turbo spec. Looks more like a g6e, with a turbo engine fitted later on. That’s not to say it wasn’t built this way. Or copped a drivetrain change later on.
The early powertrain development xr6 sprint prototypes were g6e turbos that were modified with f6 bits. |

Build tag and Ford systems show it as a G6E Turbo. Brakes could look small behind the aftermarket wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not sure why there is even a thought to comment “BS”. It’s all there, an 07 build date when they were released around March officially (compliance from Feb 08), various anomalies with it (regardless of condition). As for other stuff like “it probably wasn’t a turbo to begin with” - it very clearly has the build sticker with engine code and model code - confirming it to be a G6E Turbo on both accounts.
As for the final price - wow. Lol. It was due to end the night I posted this thread, and had barely scraped through $8k before jumping to $12k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The dash clocks looked odd too, with different font to production models and G6ETurbo written twice on them

A curiosity for sure but something most of us wouldn’t consider in that condition for that money.
