Default Badged my car!

Was at a shopping centre yesterday for 30mins (grabbing wheels mag) and the forte badge was ripped off my car!

Now I have tried to clean it up the best I can but there are still bits of black rubber crap (see picture) on the car. I have used polish, eucalyptus oil and 3/4's boiling water but it wont come off. are there any solutions?

I removed mine, heat + credit card (old one) then some tar and bug remover (not a mark, just be gentle)

How on earth can it be illegal to remove badges from your own car? : They don't use badges to identify your car, that is what a rego plate is for.

Here is the thing. Bought the KandH brand wax and grease remover (prepsol) and the F#^ing stuff still hasnt come off. I used it as directed: so it said to take a few shots at it.

Im so angry at the moment. I need some help. I dont think any chemical is going to get it off without killing my paint. I think I should take it to a panel beater.... Or mabey drive my car off a cliff, its amazing how something as little as that makes the whole car.

Metho will remove it quickly. I used metho on all my badges and pin stripes. Other alternative is a hair dryer. Heat it up and rub your finger over it and it should start to peal off.

Prepsol + pollish afterwards.

I think somone did you a service ditching the forte badge. Would have been nice if he/she asked for permission first though.

Just buy another badge, then use the outline so you know where to put it.

^^^ I thought of that... But it kind of looks better with it off... I think they did do me a service. I just hope there is no damage to the paint.

Ill try the Hairdryer then the metho... If it doesnt work then I might need some preposol

Won't help you, but apparently a good way of getting badges off is dental floss.

Its been lifted before. Ive been to the wreckors with my mates and they remove the badges off the cars just with a sticker remover (flat knife like blade). Problem is there is always this black crap left behind.

prepsol is a brand name - i dont think bunnings has it but the generic name for it is 'wax and grease remover' and its available in the same section as the turps, ,metho etc..

Hey All,
Had the XR6 badge lifted off at the local shops two weeks ago, and then last week the chrome valve caps. ( about ten sets in three years) I might just sit in the dark with a bat and watch : .
I have a tame paint shop guy, and he just rubbed off the old double sided tape with his thumb. I guess it would have to be dry. I wasn't sure how to get it off either, so thats why I dropped in to let him do it. Seemed pretty easy to me :
Cheers,
Mike

I saw a falcon parked at the club the other week, with only parts of the badge removed so it just said 'ALCO'. Considering I was ****ed when I saw it, i found it hillarious.

They stole our forte badge too.. maybe its some kind of forte badge stealing gang of some sort..
At least yours wasn't done by a screwdriver. They pinched the "FOR" on ours, the "TE" snapped off and its scratched through the paint where the badge was. Bastards..
