I also have to go with insurance, second preference would be the fuel savings.

As a lot of us here are modding our cars and a lot are under 25... the insurance cost skyrocket, it's rediculas :(

After going through the rigmorole of trying to get a decent insurance price on my XR I am building, and the troubles it is causing, an understanding insurance company would be good. The main company to highly modified cars.....go...ggo gave me a quote that was in the best way I can say it, ludicrous, and I have a spotless record, 60% no claim, in my 30's......

I say Fuel.

But .... if you got 10% off groceries you also still get a fuel docket for 4cents off, so that would be a better win-win situation I think.

Interesting Concept guys but as an admin I would only vouch for 10 or less drivers on this forum for insurance purposes, the rest I would expect a higher than standard premium. :

Not to mention the fewls that want to cut their springs because they want a lower ride height. :yeees:

Obviously a Sponsor will not support any concept unless it has something in return, this being so, I am left wondering what members can offer based on the suggestions.

No we are not looking for Ambulance Chasers either! :evil_laug :evil_laug

Supermarket Discounts?, free upsizes?, Cut price car polish? Red walks off into the distance shaking his head and wondering what peoples concepts of a vehicle forum actually are!

Well if a sponser offers a 10% discount to forum members and as a result their number of customers increases then they are getting something in return.

If I may use the example of bike clubs/forums - I joined an online bike club/forum, have been a member for a while, attend some rides.

Certain bike shops offer a 10-15% discount if you mention you are a memebr of said club when purchasing. As a result most members of the club purchase from these particular bike shops - i.e. their customer base has grown as has customer loyalty.

Another one is my insurer - at the time of taking out the policy they asked me if i was a member of any bike clubs - i recieved a 10% discount as i was a member of the club, i honsestly don't know what their reasoning is for this but i reckon (besides the fact they are more likley to get your business) that they are saying person joins club = person is enthusiast, enthusiast = less likley to be a di$khead rider.

All new members should get a FordForums.com.au showbag. Amongst other things it will contain a woopie cusion, snappy-gum, vouchers to places you've never heard of (and expired last month), and a big inflatable hammer.

Other replacement items could be... a kazoo, ninja costume, or a plastic sherrif badge.

I picked groceries :

I figure insurance only costs about $1000 per year or less (10% discount would save me $100 p.a.).

Groceries cost at least $100 per week multiply by 52 to give $5200 p.a. less 10% discount is a saving of $520 :

Living in NZ I'm doubtful of ever reaping the benefits of our gracious sponsors so I went for the tea. Which I'm dubious about.

I went with coles/woolies, insurance company's never give that much of a discount, 4c litre would save me about $1 a week, whereas 10% off at coles would save me $10 a week.

I cant believe all the people who go outta their way to get 4c/litre off. It probably costs more money in petrol to find a petrol station that honours the discount then it would to just fill up. I might save $1 a week. Over a year thats a whole $50 which you wont really notice anyways lol.

lol, indeed. Its funny in bundy, the woolies discount petrel station has cars backed all the way up the street, happily burning fuel while waiting to save 4c a litre. i just dont get it

as long as its the middle of the night, and i have nothing better to do, one more post:
most of the independant fuel stations are now doing much better discounts than the big guys anyway. for instance, if you buy or sell a house through a particular real estate here, and take your receipt to one of the fuel stations, they give you up to 100c/L off, basically a free tank of fuel, other companies give you 10-50c off etc, depending what you buy, and where from

insurance company is the best bet here, others are really car related or would benifet dramatically off, everyone has insurance. (HOPEFULLY) not everyone likes tea, or hangs out at coles/woolies, hj or maccas maybe hehe, but insurance is the best here. no matter of age, u have a decent size bill waiting

Has anyone keen for these mega discounts thought up a possible perceived advantages would exist for the supposed sponsors/benefactors?

I'm interested to hear what you people think.

For a supermarket?

For an insurer?

For Rotton Ronnies?

For an Oil Company?

etc?
