Hi,
I've just has my Ford Focus serviced for the first time and was surprised that despite them having it from 7:30am to 5:30pm they didn't throw a bucket of suds over it or give it a quick vacuum and deodorise. I've has this done each service from Toyota and VW in the past. Do some Ford dealers do this? Or is it a Ford policy not to? Cheers, MK |

When mine was under warranty. the Ford dealer washed mine the job was OK only thing I would complain about was the silicone they used on the tyres to spray off over the bottom of the cars duco.

Before I knew better than to take my car to Ford, they used to throw a bucket of water or two over it, blacken the tyres and they always had a plastic sheet over the drivers seat.
Back then it was the only time it ever really got a wash, so it used to look quite good when I got it back. :

Dealer washes are good for adding heaps of fine scratches to you paint that you have to polish out...

Unless you request it, no. The detailers generally never see the cars booked into the service dept. If they are washed after service, it's by the first year apprentice or the mechanic working on it and it's usually a rush job or done to wash the grease and crap off after steam cleaning the engine if you leave your engine that filthy that the crap flies everywhere.

Lol, My dealer hasn't washed my car once in the 3 1/2 years they have serviced it.
McGrath's Woden don't wash any customers car i have seen. In fact they sometimes leave crap on the drivers seat from where they sat in it with their grubby overalls. |

They use a broom head and a bucket of soapy water.
DEFINITE NO.. I always clean mine before it's due for a service so they don't decide the work experience kid needs something to do, like put scratches on peoples pride & joy. |

Bayford- They have washed my car every time that I have serviced it there, about 7 times. They do a got job and also spray on some tyre shine, I have actually seen them wash it and NO they don't use a Broom head to wash it, if fact they use a High pressure washer.
It is actually fords policy to wash the car for you and you can complain if you don't get it washed. |

My Territory wasn't washed ... I'd be ****ed off they washed it too ... cos of the damn water restrictions in Sydney ... I don't think they wash their new vehicles out in the yard due to the restrictions as well

I have only ever seen a car get washed once after being serviced, and that was my Dad's 89' Rodeo. That was understandable because it was at the mechanics to get a serious diesel leak fixed! There was diesel everywhere! That was probably close to 10 years ago, and the Rodeo hasn't been washed since!

I wouldn't want mine washed at the dealers either. I was told that they don't touch the interior, unless requested to fix something under warranty.

That's pretty much right. They're not allowed to change any settings, including the radio station, unless they're working inside the car and it's required to perform the service. Part of the reason is to protect the property of the owner. I have seen Dealer principals "hide" money on the inside of the car and inspect it to make sure it's still there after the service.
