Default Pursuit/XR50 Front ????

Well guys as the title says, I am soon to put the AU in the panel shop due to a little touch up with a Hiace van.
It gives me the opportunity to change the front end but there are some reservations I need to get my head around.

1. I much prefer the factory bar because its moulded plastic but thats the compromise.
2.Pursuit Lip looks much more intergrated with the car.
3. XR50 looks different but I have a love/hate relationship with it. 3rd light makes it too busy but at the same time is ok.
4. I am not going to change my Rebel kit to the T series skirts/rear bar. Would this look out of balance ? Probably not.

Give me construct comments please.
By the way this pic was taken at AFD last Sunday, forget the strips and colour but it looks the goods.

XR50 would look fantastic in Meteorite.

Pursuit front end is nice but it sometimes looks a little fat round the bottom edges cos of the lip. Do you have ground clearance issues to worry about? Going by your sig, Im guessing no?!

BD - for your car, I reckon just the pursuit lip. There is not an awful lot of difference between the XR50 bar and an AU2 bar with pursuit lip in terms of attention grabbing, and with the rebel kit, I reckon the pursuit lip would enhance the looks.

Then again, the XR50 bar would also look great, and you could have the holes where the spotties are meshed instead of putting lights there.

As you can see, I am as confused as you are. If I had to choose, and your current bar can be fixed, then I would go pursuit lip. If your front bar is going to be totally replaced, then get the XR50 and pocket the difference to go towards your next set of rims! (AU2 bar is around $1200, XR50 around $500).

On a side note - that Red XR looks great. I assume it had the TS skirts and TS rear bar?

Thanks JC, LOL I agree with you on both counts.
Bar will get replaced,so its which one ? yes they both will look good, your suggestion with mesh insted of the Nancy boy driving lights is a good suggestion and has me thinking.
Re the Red AU in the pic, yes looked hot in the flesh, it had the Rebel kit like mine. Rims were 20 x 10 at the rear frigging huge dish.

Personal choice really. I've had both and I always thought with the 250 front, there was something missing. It looks grat, but its not quite right. I've never seen either front in meteorite yet so its hard to say. Go the 250

Wants us to organise a FFAU lynch mob visit? Haven't had a lynching for a while. You will need to contact EFFalcon. He is lynch mob supermo and takes bookings.

I'm hanging out to see this kit. I think it will look grat. First one in your colour too

Pursuit lip.. or XR50 bar would look out of sinc without the T3 skirts and T3 rear bar IMO. Looking at it dead side on, the front would be much lower than the sides and rear.

Good points 012, this is in the back of my mind.

Looking at these 2 examples is what you mean but does it look that bad ?

BD - second image is a bit hard to tell.

In all honesty, the pursuit lip is probably only around 5-10mm lower than the standard AU2 XR bar. The XR50 bar, on the other hand, is way lower.

The red ute still looks great, even though the front is much lower than the back. At least it's not like an AU1 where the front has it's nose in the air (by comparison).

the XR50 front bar is approx 5mm (10mm MAX) lower than a pursuit lip, i have had both and we checked during initial construction just out of interest

I have the Pursuit lip with the Rebel kit, and it doesn't look out of place at all. That'd be the combo I'd go for, as I agree that the XR50 front looks a little busy.

The pursuit lip is definitely more than 5-10mm lower - more like 20-25mm on the XR bar. With my height adjustable front suspension (and I've had it raised after it settled from the original install...), it still scrapes a fair bit. A recent hit has damaged the fibre-glass a tad, so I'm up for a front bar fix up, which will also include a fix-up on the side skirts (which are still deteriorating...), and I may as well finally commit to my long-planned bonnet enhancements - not a BA bulge, but keeping with AU XR tradition, and my Herrod-modded-ness.
