Default Camry the safest car - for a carjacking

Well what I have suspected all along has been confirmed by the experts. In an article in the SMH friday 30/09/05 and published on the drive.com.au site the following is one of the ten tips to avoid carjacking :hihi: ;

Minimise your appeal. "The type of vehicle being driven plays a large part in whether it's a target or not. The bad guys don't tend to car-jack slow cars. A white Toyota Camry is probably the world's best defence against car-jacking."

That does it my phoon is staying in the garage :yeees:

cheers

Peter

If they want the car, they'll just smash the windows to get you out.
Usually they only end up being used to commit other crimes anyway, so they don't give a rats about the window, especially when it's most likely they will torch it afterwards.

Maybe toyota should start a marketing campagne advertising that fact.

Best idea is to stop a good distance from the car infront at the traffic lights, then you can atleast try to get away.

and i would say a typhoon or similar would have enought power to simply power away if someone tried to jack it.
