Default Car Video that should be Banned ???

Hi people,

In advance, if this question is answered somewhere on this forum, I apologise.

But what is the name of the movie that Today tonight wants banned due to its vivid depiction of Hoons doing dangerous, idiotic and careless "STUNTS" on the street ??

Oh, polititical correctness and the perception that individuals cannot decide for themselves what is appropriate or not, will probably result in this thing being banned. I want to make up my own mind, so i guess I'll need to get a copy...........

Cheers

If you've seen it you'll know what I mean, if you hav'nt, BUY it to see what happens when you graft a set of CAST IRON nuts on a motor bike rider and give him a modified super bike.

Its a series of "shorts".

The best one lasts for 18 mins (from memory) and this guy rides between two cities.

The camera is mounted such that you can see the speedo, tacho and the oncoming road (traffic). Until I saw this movie, I would not have believed that it could be done, or that a bike could travel as quickly (or accelerate as fast as it does between 280 and its limiter (320 or so)
It honestly makes you numb the first time you see it, if you've got some appreciation of the speeds involved. Its totally off this planet.... but was caught on tape and is very professionally done. I was in shock after seeing it !!!

He then goes off in another major city........................ pulls the biggest burnouts in PEAK hour in front of the coppers (all 30 or so of them). Gets down the road, turns around and does it all again........... still in front of the coppers. (And when i say burnout, I dont mean no nansy pansy squeally, it lasts for minutes.........)

Then he gets a turbocharged Hiabusa, and sets out to see how fast, how far a wheely can be maintained. Inexcess of 300 clicks............... gives it WOT and F - A _ R _k me, it picks up the rear wheel and disappears into the distance. On a public road amongst traffic. And lots of different camera angles........... including the speedo, tacho and oncoming road.

Now having said all of that, sadly MR GHOST RIDER is no longer amongst the land of the living.......... met a untimely (if not foreseen) death making a second movie.

HIGHLY recommended viewing for those of us that know that this is no way to behave on public roads.

Now whats the name of that CAR MOVIE from spew on my night.

It's an american DVD. It was all filmed in the states.

You can go buy heaps of dvd's like this from autobahn and the likes, failing that just download it.

Hi REDRUM, just a question, but why ban something like that ?

Should we not as individuals have the maturity, commensense and "right" to make up our own minds ?

Why should we not ban every other movie, docco or whatever that depicts anything politically incorrect (or in this case obviously dangerous) Where is the line drawn, and who should draw that line ???? Why not each individual ?

Horror movies, violent mind numbing (when played for eight hours on end) computer games, and even the 'non fictional stuff' .... such as PASSION of the Christ should therefore be banned ?

I personally don't hire horrors, and I made the mistake of going to see the PASSION, and was sick to my stomach. It was too graphic and realistic for me. I got up and quietly left the theater. Do I want it banned.

NO ! People can decide for themselves.

Joe citizen is having 'governance' dictate what, where, who and how we live our lives. Sure there are laws, and on the whole these are all good. Pitty the way the Magistrates are so far removed from the values of society in general.

I am not a pimply faced kid (closer to 40 than is ideal...) so don't put my question / comments down to inexperience / youth whatever.

I'm genuinely interested in you opinion and would appreciate your reply.

Cheers

I guess the problem is not the videos produced but the market that buys them. But then humanity has not changed. We used to cheer to people being attacked by lions. Now we cheer at people killing themselves and doing stupid things and putting themselves and/or others in danger. You are probably correct, banning would not change anything. The real problem is that there is no control over the information median now and all this information gets into the hands of youth who are not wise/smart/mature enough to decide. They steal cars like in Grand Theft Auto and drive them like they see on tv...... I know this sounds extreme but I truly believe society is slowly going down the gurgler. I mean a movie was brought out about rapes and violent sex offences a few years ago, shown at that theatre in Latrobe St in Melbourne. Same arguement. Where does it end. Perhaps we should show the beheadings of hostages on tv, the one a week moron jumping of the west gate. I think too many people have not experience horror in reality and think they know it all cause they watch friday the 13th. Well there is a real world out there and it sure as hell scares me. As for political correctness I am not a supporter of affirmative action or any related rubbish.

My 2 cents (rounded down) worth

Cheers

Ghost Rider was filmed in Europe.

The best bit is after he does the burnouts in front of the cops, he comes back on a tiny pushie in his riding suit and helmet.

Have a cry all the sooks who want it banned.

The reality is that only Australia has laws and attitudes which cater to the lowest common denominator on the roads. NOT Europe or other countries where driving is about transport, not making money.

The sequences in the video are illegal but theyre also cool and FUN! jsut like burnouts , drifting and other HOON sports. Dont like it then exercise your freedom of choice and dont buy it.

But please dont try to export your political correctness, theres more than enough here already.

Ghost Rider...... if thats the one with Nicholas Cage it was filmed in Melbourne, and indeed at Telstra Dome and our Show Grounds.

I take it that it never made it to the cinema then?

thats the video of the busa that goes through the gaps about 10mm wider that the bike between trucks, and you can see the speedo... then the sky, then the road again... doesnt surprise me that hes chilling with kurt cobain and the like... thats where bikers get their bad reputation from though... and why the cops usually wont chase them at all...

Because there are more people than you think who read these forums and they range from Police to Ford Employees. It's in your own best interests not to post it to save your warranty etc.

But more importantly, the reason we don't allow it is because we don't condone idiot behaviour.

Yeah lets ban everything.... I mean if it wasnt for videos like that one on TV tonight our youngsters would be indoors playing nice wholesome games like dominos and checkers.

Give me a break.... nothings changed, young people have been doing this stuff for decades.

I dont think its lawful or smart but your not gonna stop people doing this kind of thing by censoring everything.
