You know that wheel disc that sits between the wheel and the hub on AU's (well i only know that's its on my xr)...what is it supposed to do?
I'm gonna paint my calipers eventually and wondering should I remove the disc completely? I probably wouldn't if it has any big drawbacks though...

It's a dust cover ... a lot of people remove them.
It really didn't work as well as Ford hoped it would .... brake dust still got on the wheels ... and dirt and rocks still got behind it as well. There is no adverse affect if removing them.

Yep, no harm done in removing them. Save yourself a few kilos in weight as well!
You'll probably have a little more brake dust on the rims though, no big deal though! GK |
