Default April 2006 new car sales

Another month comes to an end today. With petrol at almost $1.50 per liter, I wouldn't be surprised to see the local four manufacturers have a poor month. My prediction:

Falcon - 3,800
Territory - 1,500
Ute - 1,200
Fairlane - 100

Total = 6,600 (Last year was 7,893)

I doubt it'll be a good month, but I reackon it'll be a record of e-gas sales for Ford.

I think at least 1 in 5 Falcons sold in April were fitted with the eGas engine.

Had a lot to do with the fact I was on annual leave for 2 weeks. Which meant vehicles weren't sourced to the level they usually are each month.

I'd expect that Ute will be closer to 1000 and Falcon will be closer to 3000 than 3800.

Will be interesting to see if any manufacturers have a great April, as April is a short selling month due to the various holidays.

Tuff Call but I doubt the month will be even that good, something tells me Falcon will be in the Low 3 k area.

The big Question is the 380, will it pop 1000 units or not this month.

I suspect not. That is why Mitsubishi made significant price reductions last week.

Theres Series II on their way to ??

Very dissapointing for anyone whos purchased a VRX or GT as only ES customers are getting the 2k rebate..

Sends it further down the toilet. I reckon some models will have about a 35-40% retained value after 3 years at this rate

Bit of a shame really, the VRX is a nice car but hte ES is a bucket of crap in the looks department.

The new SX looks ok from the front but has that stuffed ES rear end, if only mitsubishio would put the VRX rear across the range!

January and April have traditionally been low volume months. The whole industry goes through this so it's not a true reflection.

April is a low month. But a figure as low as 3,000 is unacceptable.

No f$#king way! Only 5198 vehicles sold! I'd say half of the Falcons were LPG equipped.

If Holden sell more than 3,500 Commonbores I'll freak.

I suspect Mitsubishi sold less than 1,000 380s.
