Default Hi Fellas....I'm back...and leaving soon....

Hi Guys,

I've finally taken Shane's advice and logged on to the new forum....well, its new to me.

Here's my first post. The time has come for me to pack up my bags and head to another country for work reasons...better job prospects, better pay and hopefully much nicer car to play around with (don't think thats possible but 2 out of 3 ain't bad). So in the next couple of days/weeks, I'll be putting my beloved XR up for sale. But I need some help coz this is the first car I've ever had to sell on my own here in Australia...which also means I know absolutely nuts about selling cars. I would really appreciate is someone could give me some pointers on the things I need to do and look out for.

Also, if anyone's keen in buying my XR, do drop me a PM and make me an offer. As most of you would know, it still in an immaculate condition, one owner, absolutely no track work, and always kept under shelter.

A brief profile of my XR...

Hi there HOTDBZ
was taking a look at some of the pics on AUfalcon.com and was wondering what size Kings Springs you've got in the front and rear cause it sits really nice.

Hey Mal, long time no post! Where've you been? Anyway, wish you all the luck for the future, and sad to see the AU will be up for sale, after all that you, and the car went through. Hope it all works out for ya. Do they have Fords where you moving to? Cause you know.. once blue, always blue. :

I can help you out with selling your car, basically when selling a car in Aust it is usually negotiated with cartons of beer. And there is not usually a lot of money involved ;)

Goodluck with your sale.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely be popping back into this forum to keep up with the latest Ford-related goss. It brings a tear to my eye knowing that I have to sell my XR coz as most of you would know I spent heaps of time...ahem...paying others to do it up....and of course loads of money as well. I don't expect to get much of it back, just hoping it goes to a good home...and not some doof doof bastard who's going to race it down the street and end up wrapped around a power pole.

Mal, welcome, and good bye, all at once.

How much are you after for the car? Not that I can afford it, just interested.

Thanks Fellas...and oh yes, I'll be moving to Singapore. The initial plan was to accept a position in an advertising firm in the States but another offer came up in Singapore which was too good to resist ($$)...even though cars are heaps more expensive there. I'll pop back now and then and post pictures of my new car when she arrives.

Mate, you'd want to be earning LOTS of money to be being anything special car wise in Singapore. My partners dad is a pilot and lives in Singapore, him, wife and 2 kids get around without a car.

Taxi's are just so cheap there!

Save your dough and come back with an even greater car in Australia!

Damn bugger you have to sell the car and not be able to road register it in Singers. That would be interesting, I wonder what sort of feedback you'd get from it over there.

All the best in your future endeavours, and good luck with the sale.

OMG Mal! Welcome back! I can't believe you are selling this incredible weapon! :( Did you finally upgrade to that Porsche?

It's a shame that the amount of work, money and time all gone into this car won't get a price that it truly deserves.

I know of a couple of people who work in Singapore and are on very good wages. Too bad the cost of living has gone up so much there, but I am sure you will enjoy yourself and do well.

Come back to Oz some day!

Hey Mal....

welcome back, what a shame you have to sell your XR.

I'd love to own it, and give it the respect it deserves, but its up for sale a bit to early for that.

lets hope it goes to a good home (hopefully someone on the forum)

you missed out mate, i went to a heathcote drag meet, and even this years AFD! didnt have tennis on those 2 days ! :P

anyway Mal, good luck in singapore, and be sure to get back on here with pics of the new beast, whatever it is

Cya Mal. :

Thanks guys! Guess the Porsche dream will have to be put on hold for the moment, would have got myself a nice little 911 Turbo if I accepted the job with the Ad firm in the States but....

Anyway, I ain't shortchanging myself despite heading to Singapore....so when I get my hands on my next car, I'll definitely be back with some pictures....sad to say...it won't be a Ford (as the Fords in Singers suck big time)...and definitely not a Holden or Opel or whatever shite variants they call themselves.

So guys, if you know anyone who's interested in my XR, please pass my contact details over to them. Price is negotiable as it is priced for immediate sale. Like I said earlier, rather it be owned by anotehr blue-blooded brother than some sleazy second-hand car dealer (no offense intended).
