Regarding the above post by me.... the audio forums aren't as popular thought i'd ask the question here and it make it sound "less technical".... Can someone with a workshop manual try and look up the pinout colours and corrosponding connections for the stock wire loom so I can hook up my new Pioneer Headunit :ticking: Please!!! and thanks in advance

Constant 12V for memory wire = yellow (connect to yellow wire on head unit) Accessories = Violet & Red (connect to red wire on head unit) Dimming = Dark blue & Red (connect to brown or green wire on head unit, if there is one) Power antenna = Red & Dark blue (connect to orange wire on head unit) The rest is all right: earth = black right rear speaker = + is dark blue & red , - is dark blue & black left rear speaker = + is pink & dark green , - is pink & black front right speaker = + is grey & black, - is grey & dark green front left speaker = + is orange & black, - is orange & light green I've guessed at the headunit wiring based on ISO standards, but some manufacturers still use their own colours, so check in the instruction manual first.

going off that diagram/schematic , there is only 6 other wires left , those being ...
3 wires are for the mobile phone function, those wires being... 1/ Light blue & Yellow, 2/ Pink, 3/ Light Green. the other 3 are ..... Accessories = Violet & Red Illumination = Brown Dimming = Dark blue & Red EDIT .. oh sorry , i didnt chceck the other side of the unit on the schematic ..lol , stuid me . For the SUB + it say the RED wire , and for the SUB - it says the YELLOW wire .... note : this is off the 4 plug conector though only , dont go using the yellow 12v wire ! . also for the volume controls on the steering wheel , if you headuntil has the function to use them , connect the 2 connections to the 'Red & Black' & 'Orange & Black' wires .

You use a remote wire, it should be a thin blue wire you run with your rca's...

On the back of your new head unit loom, there is a wire with a big sticker that says "REMOTE"

The 4pin plug hole on the back of the headunit is for powering the sub with the headunit . It really depends what input connections you have on your sub amp / are you using the factory aftermarket amp ?
This is basing the pinout plug off the factory headunit / the schematic supplied , other headunits will probably have a remote wire as mentioned above / the remote wire being a positive wire which powers the switch in the relay which powers the amp when the headunit is on / depending on how you have your amp wired/powered of course) ;) , cheers

Cheers now I get it all sorry for being dumb, didn't realise the Remote wire was to back of headunit (derr.. im at work dodging the boss so i wasn't thinking properly) i was talking like the amp would go to a wire on the cars loom lol!
DERRR Ahh the 4 plug is for subs off headunit. Well it's a pioneer headunit, I have a 4 channel kicker amp for the speakers.. will try and set it all up this weekend Cheers guys!

An aftermarket loom from somewhere like supercheap is a very wise investment
You can still return it all to factory later and there is no cutting required. If you get the ISO one just cut the 2 ISO ends off and wire it into your unit. Very good idea for less than $30 |

Hi twisted EL
Coincencedentally I just did that, and all the colours matched up perfect (except the power antenna which i just saw on JC's post.. but i cant be bothered taking out my headunit and re-soldering when my antenna doesn't work anyway) So yes, i soldered up my own perfect adapter loom Series II AU speakers go HARD as for stock with my new headunit! will connect 4 channel amp and new speakers tomorrow though Will have to make up a surround as well... Worst thing was I blew the fuse for my Stereo so i was fiddling around stressing thinking wtf everything is perfect!!! Luckily i checked fuses and it was just that... headunit came straight to life

Rofl touched the yellow wire against some metal I bet
Definitely need the speaker upgrade if you're serious - you will need to cut the old connector off in the doors. The surround is easy if you have a jigsaw/router & MDF. And don't forget to run your RCA's down the opposite side of the vehicle to the power lines. And to put a fuse in near the battery for your amp. Sorry if you knew all this. It's a great feeling to know you did it all yourself |
