Absolutely tragic. How quickly your life could be over. Bit like the life of this thread. I fear the sensors will kick in.

Cheers.

The censors are not holding you to these forums either, so if its an issue.... there is no need to explain.

Btw, the clip dates back a fair bit with discussion indicating that the guy survived, I stand correct though.

Unfortunately I think he was killed instantly. I went to a performance driving centre day when I first got my licence and we were shown that video. The guy said the boy who was about 14 was walking home from school when it happened and had no chance .. It was also said that the guy driving the PT was on his phone which is why he ran the red light.

Though on further inspection of the footage it would appear that the boy is also in the wrong since the car from right of screen now has green light and if the other car didnt run a red light it appears he would have been hit anyway :

Quite sad indeed

Your right mate. He actually did survive and his injury's were not severe. This was on wildest police video's and like you said it dates back a fair bit.

Cheers

Another reason to make running red lights a criminal offence.

Speaking of crashes, I was riding with a friend about 30 minutes ago, and as he lives in a section of Rowville which has narrow roads, on our left comes this absolute idiot tearing down the road at 70km/h (in a bloody 50 zone!) in the middle of the road (narrow) and didn't notice us pulling out. He had to turn hard at the last second and just missed us.

Absolute idiot. Hope he loses his license soon.

The point is that you can be doing nothing wrong. But unfortunately, the stupidity and absolute irresponsibility (there's that word again!) of some total fools can potentially result in death.

Can only take caution.

Take a close look as the massive ding in the car that rolls and goes over the boy. I think the boy somehow goes under that ding, which saves him from getting fully owned. But, with a hit like that, I'd probably want something nice & solid like the block to kiss my forehead so it's instant. Poor bugger.

All light controlled intersections should have red light cameras. They will save lives unlive the road side revenue raisers.

and did anyone spot the pedestrain the 4wd rolled over the top of? People run red lights everyday. Some intentional some unintentional. It's an accident from what I can see the other car doesn't even brake for the red light. Most likely didn't even spot it :

some mentioned it others didn't. I figured it would have been mentioned in "all". Hence wondering why some didn't seem to notice?
