Extract from Cricket Australia, go the the website if you want to see proof and image of the logo
Australia's premier domestic one-day cricket competition has a new naming rights sponsor with the announcement on Wednesday that Ford had jumped on board for the 2006-07 season. The Ford Ranger One Day Cup will replace the ING Cup for the coming season. Can anyone help me out here? What is the Ranger? Is it a replacement for the Courier? I was told that Ford will be updating the Courier at the end of this year with the same model that was released as the Ranger at the Bangkok Motor Show earlier this year, but it would be called the Courier. The only photos i have found so far are the ones of the US Ford site of the Ranger Any thoughts people?????????? |

Just a small point, as good looking as the new shape Courier/Ranger is, it's more an evolution than the revolution that the Rodeo, Hilux & brand new Triton are. Not to mention the Navara siblings….
I just hope that there is enough change in the new design to enthuse a market that is seeing so many extraordinary designs. |

The 3.0L Common Rail Turbo Diesel sounds nice - 3000k tow. Like the freestyle cab model and dually may actually come with reasonably sized rear bench not church pew. Hopefully it has some decent offroad ability as Hilux is now a toy /Prado

It is true. Ford Courier is no more. It will be known as Ford Ranger in Australia as it is in o/s markets.

One of the most sensible marketing moves made by Ford Australia in a while. Who wants a truck called the 'Courier'
Hopefully with some decent marketing, the new Ranger should sell more Thumbs up to Ford |

Yeah theyve had the Ranger name in the US for yonks.
I like Ranger, good name, Courier sounds like a Van. Heres a question though, are our Rangers still coming from Mazda or somewhere else?

I'm glad it hasn't got much bigger than the previous model. A lot of the new utes look too big and bulky

That Courier has always been known as the Ranger overseas. Australia is just taking the global name.

My mistake, just confirmed that with the boss, its odd though as our product ordering guide still lists it as the PJ Courier.

Had not heard of the Ranger name change...but I was aware of the Domestic One-Day competition being renamed the Ford Ranger Cup :voldar02:
Good to see Ford going strong with their sponsorship of cricket. FYI the link is as follows: http://cricket.com.au/default.aspx?s...splay&id=37619
