Default Best Falcon model

Okay Falcon lovers, we all know the falcon is THE car to own, so which model is the best! The most reliable, the fastest, the most economical, the best looking I don't care.
Go with your guts!

BF. Its the newest, most advanced, and the F6 is the fastest Australian production sedan of all times, so yeah, BF.

Steffo, the fastsest productin sedan??? Have you heard of a Bolwell Nagari?? Locally produced in Melbourne, fibreglass bodied 2 seater 302 or 351 ford powered, now that was fast.

BA/BF I voted. Mainly for the turbo models as they are the only ones I would consider buying.

Why?

Only a V8 is a V8.

I spent a day with my engine tuner, he worked on my GT and another guy's F6, when we were done, we both had around 288kw at the rear wheels.

He asked if I wanted to go for a ride in his F6, I did and it felt about the same as the GT for go, if there was a difference in straight line speed, either way, I couldn't pick it.

Then I asked him if he wanted to come for a ride in the GT and he did.

After full lock slides through the turns, fist gear fish tails for as long as you care to stay on the throttle (Auto in performance mode, not changed manually) and noise that made his F6 sound like a Sigma, he got out of my car, the tuner asked "What did you think?" He responded "I wish that I'd bought the V8."

That's not a sedan, is it? Besides, the fastest Aussie production car is the Elfin Clubman MS8. The Typhoon however, is the fastest Aussie production four-door sedan.

I dnt think the F6 is the fastest Australian production sedan , ur forgetting about the VE HSV GTS - 0-100 in 5.02(auto)(4.96 for man)sec, F6 typhoon 0-100 in 5.4sec.
I would still opt for the typhoon tho, rather the DOHC than pushrods!

Don't take the magazines too seriously. Typhoon's are in the high to mid 12's 1/4 mile stock, and with the trap speeds they show, could potentially be even faster then that with the right rear end setup (ie: better grip, better ability to launch etc). The VE is... not as fast. Period.

Never have trusted any magazines. Only good for a look and nothing else IMO when it comes to cars.

Only magazines worth money are FHM, Ralph and ZOO :

They're great if you want a general idea of how a car drives, and also the opinion of whatever journalist wrote the article.

For professionally done performance times (by that I mean recorded by professional drivers), best look elsewhere. The times they record are beaten on a daily basis by not so special drivers (I myself have smashed Motor's Fiesta time by 5 tenths and I'm nothing special... was at WSID for fun, 17.252 @ 77.98 mph (yeh I know its slow), their best is 17.75).

Good to see you have changed your opinion. And I agree, motor/wheels are not bibles, but do give a good indication.

Nothing sounds and turns heads like a car with chrome on it. I voted for the XA of course (2 and 4 door).

i've owned a few, but i loved the BF. Sensational car. Everything is good with it, the colours, the interior, the 6 speed auto, the whisper quiet 6, the chimes, the ............... EVERYTHING.

If i ever have $$$ again one day, i'd be sitting in either:

a BF2 Ghia 5.4

or

a BF1/2 XR6T

Why do everyone always forget the XK? Just because it was a bit of a lemon, you can't ignore it because it was the original. If it wasn't for the XK, the Falcon wouldn't even exist.

I'd have to say the XR is my favourite, for it's time. It won Wheels car of the year. It also saw the introduction of the GT and the Fairlane, plus they look great. Obviously a BA/BF is a better car than an XR now, but for it's time, the XR was brilliant

I think everyone is just voting for what model they own, even if it is crap.

I own a BA but am going to vote for the BF. There just such a clean car and there nice to drive. But I also like the ED
