Default Not another VE thread!

Just a small curiosity.

I live in Canberra and drive a lot through out the day and I havnt seen many VE commodores around. Maybe I see 2 each day at max.

But I watch these add's on tv claiming its the best car this year and best selling car of the year, blah blah, are they all just lies!?

Maybe Canberra have a late shipment of VE's, im not sure how it works. But how many have you seen driving around your areas?

If this thread sucks, just remove it, its just a simple curiosity I have.

I'd be lucky to see one a day and I'm in brisbane. But keep in mind the car is still sorta new so it'll take time till we see it more often ...I'm going to hate seeing that ugly car more often.

Holden export a heap of them, thats why the sales are so high. Give it time tho, and theyll filter through onto the raods.

Sales reported in VFACTS do not include exports. VFACTS sales are what are generally reported in the media.

Yep VFacts numbers are new cars registered in Australia.

Not the number built or the number exported.

I haven't seen many VE's, but then again I haven't seen many BFII's either.

The large car segment is now only 13% of the market. A few years ago it was 26%.

There are now 100,000 fewer large cars sold in Australia compared to 5 years ago - that's scary isn't it ?

What will it be in 5 years time ?

Most cars sold these days are small and light cars.

ie: Corolla / Focus / Mazda 3 and Fiesta / Mazda 2 / Yaris type vehicles.

I've seen a fair few here in Sydney. My work has a few of them but I've yet to drive one. Everytime I need the company car, I always grab the Fairmont. I'd rather drive my Focus than the Commodore wagon work has. lol

Only ever seen the BF2 once though.

I saw my first one on Thursday! It was turning into Wylde St from Cowper Wharf Rd in Woollomooloo. And to be honest... it didn't look that good.

I like what HSV has done with the rear end, LED tail Lights and I LOVE how they have made it that you have to actually change the rear panels if you want to put these HSV tail lights on your Stocky VE..............lol

They learnt a valuable lesson with the Monaro Tail lights..........

But yeah I see about 2 to 4 per day, all depends how far I drive but on another note on my short drive of 20 minutes in the morning I see about 15 e-series Fords...........

I work at preston motors in the pd department, and i do about 6-7 VE's a day. That are being picked up the day after! so people are buying them, you just have 2 see them on the road!

They've got to be somewhere. It is the top selling car in the country isn't it ?

Although with the shrinking large car segment, you would think that the only way Holden & Ford are going to keep their volumes up to where they were 6 years ago is to export, and export a lot !!

Correction, I believe it is the Toyota Corolla though i could be wrong.
Holden uses Fleet Statistcs to call it Australia's favourite car...They will take anything they can to pump up the image of their brand.

Ie: The VE Calais Vs. BMW 550i

All good points about the commodore...Luxury...Handling..."The Drivers Car"

Could they mention anything else? Like engine performance? Nope.
