as the title suggests, will some BA XR6 front brakes be a straight swap conversion onto my AU?
that being said, are those brakes are bigger, and would it be a worthwhile coversion?

They should fit straight on. Why not just get the ones the FTG was selling.

ohhh its like that. They should fit, if the brake upgrade for FTG fits from Au2 to BF the XR shouldn't have a problem.

Yes they do fit HLC i got a set cheap for mine also, its not just the 15mm bigger its the pad that makes the differance as the caliper is bigger so the pad is bigger then the AU2 setup.

I've thought about it, but would cost at least a grand, so I'm just going to stick with my slotted rotors and decent pads (for now at least). Just for future reference though, what's needed, is it the calipers, stub axles, what else? Easiest option would be to get some T1 brakes, but I don't like my chances of finding any.

I got a full set of BA Turbo callipers, pads, & discs (front and rear) for $60. Just need the other bits to do the upgrade on my AU1 as well.

When the car is clean I'll take some pics and put them in the BA thread. AU2 - BF, any brakes that bolt on to one model, will bolt onto another, so you can put Terry/BF brakes on your AU2 onwards. If you can get them cheap, which you should be able to, BA brakes are a worthy upgrade on an AU.

Compared to the 287mm Front and rear on AU1 & 2, the BA brakes are a good upgrade, and the calliper size alone has to be seen to be believed.

I can assure you ... the brakes on the Territory are bloody good indeed (especially when towing) ... EBD/ABS/ETC really help out as well.
They make my AUII with slotted rotors feel like crap. Still saving for the Mustang/Sumitomo upgrade (330mm 4-piston goodness) for the front of the ute.

I was looking at doing this as well, are you sure the rears will fit..the AU rears are facing forward (calipers) and on the BA the are facing rearward.

Dont waste your money on BA brakes, for a very small extra, you can get the BF XR8 brakes and they bolt straight on, no mods to AU2/3 models, the difference in braking performance is huge.

Very reasonable price, just as good as the factory premium. Only thing i would do is fit braided steel lines. These are pics of the ones ive fitted, they are the solid discs, they now sell them with slotted RDA rotors. |

With this kit, you will need 17" minimum. $650 for the fronts, and $650 for the rears for sedans, utes will require bigger backing plates so that is $250 extra. |
