After I bought a new battery today at battery world. I asked them if they could remove my CD player. They obliged free of charge, even with using the right removal tools he couldn't get it out. As he explained it, its as if theres no bracket on the drivers side and the bracket on the other side if up against the inside of the dash.
So I'm wondering. One, how do I get it out. Two has it been put in like that because it needed to be and would I be bad to attempt to take it out? Oh and when I looked at it a few days ago it did look like its been taken out before.

Is it an after market one, or the standard ford one. If it's the ford one, do a search - plenty of suggestions on how to get them out. I'd search on "radio removal"

Yea stock one. Oh dear. After reading all the threads that have to do with radio removal, it seems that destruction if the unit may need to occur. And I won't be doing that.

should just be a straight job to put the DIN keys in and pull it out. Can you remove the centra fascia and give it a bit of a poke from behind?

The radio in my olds' car was a bit stuck, but with a bit of wiggling of the removal tools, and lots of outward pressure, it did come out. You would need to use the actual tools, or allen keys or something, as lots of pressure on coathanger wire tools just bends them.

It coulb be jammed on the rear locator dowel. A round rubber covered post that holds it from the rear. Take it to a reputable radio installer, they have ways to remove it that us mere mortals couldnt imagine. They usually charge for this service depending on attitude, if yours is good its usually free

4 allen keys about the same size that fit the holes will remove the unit. Or anything else that will fit that wont bend or break with a bit of pressure
