Default A Good place for your Navman

I found a good spot for my navman. There was a phone cradle in my car when I got it and I was unable to get a car kit for my phone.

so today I took the hand set piece off and screwed my Navman bracket to the flat part.

My Navmans been great but I only use every now and then. I didn’t like leaving it stuck on the windscreen so I would take it inside and then forget it when I needed it , so now its sits in my console ready for action when I need it.

A few photos.

Thats good spot for it. Out of sight, out of mine, as cars are getting broken into for their sat nav that sit on the dash.

Depends on the unit - my older Navman won't get a signal there, but my TomTom One will.

Yeah it connects as soon as I turn it on. Haven’t driven through the city yet though. The missus can reach it easy enough now and hold it above her head for better reception if needed lol

Most of them do, but both of those advertise that there may be a unit somewhere in the car = smashed windows = stolen stuff. Mounted on the phone presenter, my TomTom can live in the centre console (it doesn't, but it could).

fair point, i didnt think about that, townsville isnt that bad with theft to my knowledge anyways, theyd steal the factory cd player before a sat nav....theyre too dumb up this way

I think you should find power leads in the console as well??? If not I would run them there. That way you wouldnt use the cigeratte lighter. Just a thought.
BTW I notice youre tage says forte?? Is that forte with ghia interior??

Wiring diagrams will help with that. But either in or under the console most modern cars have wiring for a mobile phone

if you really felt like it you could always go down to supercheap or somewhere and get an actual cigarette lighter socket and fit it into the centre console, inside that storage bit, wire it up and there you go
