Hi can anyone please tell me how to get the grey plastic bit off that sit on top of the side air bag cover.

Oohh thats a tricky one. First you have to remove the airbag cover panel. There are a bunch of little clips there, if you pry it up they will snap but you can buy replacement clips from ford spare parts. The only one i have taken off was from a dash that was already out of the car but its the same thing. Just sticky something under it and pry it up. If your car has an airbag be very very careful. Once that is off there are 3 small screws underneath the strip. Undo these and the plastic garnish bit will pop straight off.
