I'm not sure how often you think about this, but this really is a great community.
As a new member, I have stepped in here in recent times and been blown away with the friendliness of people, and their eagerness to answer newbie questions, etc, without getting huffy about it. Coming from an all-Ford family, I always knew Ford people were good people, but I've never really been on a Ford forum before, so this is just excellent. The BS factor is really low (have seen a few little blow-ups between members in old threads but nothing too crazy), and the community feeling is really high. So hat's off to you guys. Hopefully I take delivery of my car on Saturday, and I'll really feel like part of the group. Cheers! : |

I agree totally XR Rob! I'm from NZ and I haven't had one sheep joke...yet! :1syellow1
The people here are great, and I have found good, tecnical and non-technical advice and ideas for any issues I may have with my trusty old AU Futura, which has seen me right for coming up 250,000 kms!( 150,000 by me) The absence of loutish BS and "mines better than yours" mentality is a credit to the members and mods, and a pretty fair reflection, I think of most Ford owners. They enjoy their cars without having to shove it in a persons face. I have owned both holdens and fords over the years and love both cars- but I have to say that here in NZ there is a real ******** attitude amongst many holden people towards ford. But here, there seems to be respect for everybody's views- and thats why it's a great forum. Plus the practical info provided by members who actually KNOW what they are talking about has already saved me a fair few dollars in regards to what and how I spend my dollars on my futura. Thanks everybody! |

But I agree totally with the sentiments, AFF is a great forum, and the AU part is the greatest part of it. There is advice, humour, sledging (friendly), humour, and even more advice. Enjoy your stay guys - it will both save you hundreds, and cost you thousands (the mod bug bites hard when you see some of the cars on here). :

Oh no... blacklabel... you've let the cat out of the bag (or is that sheep out of the paddock?) now, telling 'em that you're a Kiwi... whoops, it's catching

Leave him alone lol,NZ folk are a great bunch and some of the freindliest people I know of, plus it helps having them as freinds (if you know what I mean). :evil3:
The AFF is a great place with never ending info, you'll get used to a few folk who are very good in the advice they give you, JC, Useless are just a few who have a wealth of information. The best bit is when you meet up with them and are not who you thought they were. : Mick

Im not a kiwi, im an aussie all the way, but my boss is a kiwi and i just must share what he said to me yesterday...
Theres an Aussie and a Kiwi standing out the back in a paddock. The kiwi says to the aussie 'want to see a trick'. the aussie says 'yeah, ok why not?'. The kiwi whistles and along comes a sheep, he grabs it and shoves its head in a hole in the fence. He starts going at it as hard as he can. He finally finishes, turns to the aussie and says 'Ok, now its your go.' The aussie looks at him for a while and sticks his head in the hole. I thought it was funny as Hell - atleast a good one for kiwis to tell. heh, fighting fire with fire! |

Linz, you REALLY need to stop being so uptight. You knocked back Bucky, now you're knocking me and maurie back. C'mon, walk on the wild side. You're used to driving a stick, it'll be an easy transition. :

A ventriloquist walks into a typical New Zealand country town and sees a local on his front verandah with his dog, and figures he`ll have a bit of fun.
Ventriloquist: "G`day mate. Good looking dog…..mind if I speak to him? Local: "Doh, the dog doesn`t talk mate." Ventriloquist: "Hey dog, how`s it going mate?" Dog: "Doin` alright." Ventriloquist: "How does your owner treat you?" Dog: "Great, mate. He walks and feeds me twice a day." Local: (Look of utter disbelief) Ventriloquist: "Mind if I talk to your horse?" Local: "Uh, the horse doesn`t talk either….." Ventriloquist: "Hey horse, how`s it going?" Horse: "Cool." Ventriloquist: "How does your owner treat you?" Horse: "Pretty good. He feeds and rides me daily." Local: (Total look of amazement) Ventriloquist: "Mind if I talk with your sheep?" Local: "The sheep`s a *********** liar!" Anyways, back on topic, yeah these forums are great, plenty of really nice people with lots of information and only to willing to help & share.
