My puller has shorter bolts
Don't need to pull the radiator out, just fans. Balancer only needs to move about 10-15 mm Need to be careful with the spanners but so don't damage radiator, I put a peice of laminex down there, thin but strong enough to stop damage from spanners |

Make sure it pulls evenly, and not to one side, otherwise you will have a ***** of a time pulling it out!

joesAu ,you need a special puller .the old bolt style ones don't work.coventry auto parts sell them for $150 od bucks.they are exspensive but you won't get the balancer off without one.if your in good with your local ford dealer/mechanic ,they might lone you one.
you can remove the balencer without pulling out the radiator, but you have to remove the thermo's

the reason the bolt was "...bloddy hard bastard..." is because they are tensioned to some rediculus foot/pound, not a hundred percent sure how much, but you will need a torque wrench to put it back on.
