Default Au Xr6 Ute Exhaust

Hey guys I have a AuII xr6 ute, and am looking to get a sports exhaust and make it louder. I dont want it to be unbearably loud but i do want it to have a note. What are would be your recommended setups for this vehicle
thanks

When i was looking for mine, i just wanted a note not sound, I ended up buying a redback, its got a note but could be louder, so you could easily add a hotdog or put a smaller muffler in it. Everyones idea of note is different so its hard to explain.

I have castle extractors, 2.5 inch high flow cat, 2.5 inch hotdog, 2.5 straight through muffler and a oval tip. Its dead quite at cruising speeds and loud when your giving it a blast.

Yes High Flow cat's do increase the sound. ... And so does gutting your cat. But you wouldn't do it! It's the most illegal thing to do and will land you around a $10,000 fine!

I'd go a 2.5" maybe 3" single exaust cat back with a rear magnaflow muffler. Or if you want it quieter then put 2 mufflers.

Hope the first bit helps?

Agreed, the ballistic cats make your note that little bit deeper.

Here's a video of mine the day I got it (2 weeks ago today). It has settled down nicely since then, still gives a bit of drone at full throttle between 2000 - 3000rpm, but the rest of the time it's nice and tough!!
