Default Bronco Raptor Reveal

Reckon we’d ever get this in Australia?

Good clue that the new Raptor is getting the same motor?

Can’t be that hard to make them RHD can it.
The demand for these things in the states is out of control!

My prediction is Ford will eventually sell the Bronco in Australia. It’s on the Ranger platform and just makes too much sense not to. I think they need to increase capacity and catch up with demand in the US and/or build them at another factory for RHD. I don’t think the limitation is assembly as much as it is getting parts to build them though.

The ranger doesn’t have irs, it’s a live axle with coil springs and a watts link. The bronco is similar, but with a panhard bar and not a watts link, for extra wheel articulation.

The tyres on this bronco are ridiculously big. The 35 inch tires you can get on the regular bronco Sasquatch package are 315/70/17, and these are 2 inches taller.

Um yeah, unless the RHD development is done at the same time, it’s a giant headache
to justify added resources to go back and redesign things and alter supply contracts

Don’t hold your breath, Bronco is another US domestic vehicle developed in LHD only.
It’s sad that Ford never envisioned the Bronco as an international vehicle, maybe it
saw Bronco simply conquesting sales away from Ranger and Everest….

And this might not be in some MBA marketing and sales course but I would argue better you buy anything from my product range than I limit your choice so I try and push you to my main products and "protect" their sales opening up the chance for an opposition product to come in and take your money anyway.

If Toyota get the Tundra here officially, will they be scared of reducing Hilux sales?

Best we can hope for is Bronco bits on an Everest.
But I doubt we'll see 37s

I think it comes under the heading of Internal competition, sales the manufacturer had anyway.

As for competition,
Jeep sorta “came and went” in Australia, maybe that was a factor in the decision making process..

I would hope that Ford revisits the possibility of products like Maverick and Bronco Sport,
they seem to have enough difference in segments where the competition is “all the same”
but that would take a pretty big change in internal business plan for Australia which I doubt….
And of course, all these other products may cost more to deliver than any profits generated, complete WOFTAM?

Valid points and here is my "however"...Ford US got it completely wrong with the anticipated demand for F-150 Lightning...in a positive sense that is... and the demand for Bronco has also been completely under-estimated...so ROI is going to be far greater, and hence profits...so just how accurate are/were any research into RHD markets considering they misjudged their own....in hindsight spending some more for RHD development would easily have paid off...

Takes a while to capitalize on the upfront investment, especially when they aren't able to manufacture enough of these things, but yes your point is valid. I think they had to invest additional millions of dollars just to increase roof capacity. I can't imagine RHD development would be too hard once Ford has the ability to increase production beyond US demand.

If as we're led to believe Bronco and Ranger have much in common then a RHD version should be easier then say making Mustang or Edge RHD back in their day.
