Default Being subscribed to threads

Recently, I am getting subscribed to threads by other forum members. In turn, this results in bombing my email inbox with status updates on said threads. I have unsubscribed myself, only to get resubscribed.

I am just curious if this is a system configuration problem or not.

If you don't want any notifications at all, you can configure it so that you won't receive an email:

USER CP > Edit Options > Messaging and Notifications
