Default Got my AU back....id rather the camry rental car

ok for anyone that doesnt already know, search for "farewell au falcon"

anyways got it back today, didnt sleep last night....now i wish i did and it was still 10pm

saw my car in the back lot...at least it was in the shade, thought yes it looks new... and new rims and tyres

had bit of a chat...rar rar rar....saw my car, guy explained everything they did.....i asked for my tickford snorkle (few big holes)...he kept it for me LOL

anyways i got in the car and it was a bit dusty but i just wanted it back..... power steering is making whirring noises AGAIN, clutch feels jerky... handles like a boat...with the sports suspension it would stick like glue for what it is, now youd have the turning circle of a truck

the road is noticably bumpier, and alot of vibration in the car
the indicator stalk feels like its glued down
handsfree is STILL broken off the bracket
remote wasnt fixed
and colour coded the grill.....jeez
AU airbox instead of the BA one.....jeez thats an ugly looking thing
and standard crappy snorkle
and took 6 weeks or so
oh and brakes stop...eventually

good points
new mag and tyres..even gave me the old one
nice paint job except for the run
exterior was cleaned.....mostly
new aircon comp
new drive belt

now, it has to go back again and fix every little detail
and i dont care if you think i shouldnt complain, you spend 20k CASH of your money on a car, have some idiot not giveway, spend $1200-1500 on rental cars, then get a car that feels it was stolen, driven into a wall and all the parts pulled out and straightened....then tell me about it

anyways im soo angry right now... more at aami then the repairers....its not their fault they were told to fix a car that should be at the wreckers right now, with a stat write off sticker on it

mate sorry to hear. but your right to complain about it hell if my car was smashed and insurance were fixing it i wouldn't settle either. aami have a guarantee right? so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting things done right... but in saying that, when does anything go right when dealing with big corporations?

Numberplates are obout $40 or so each from memory. I'd be pretty peeved too if it was me.

I've had quite a few insurance repairs done for myself, wife and family over the years, and I can tell you now, AAMI insurance jobs are the worst! I know it sounds silly, but after chatting with a couple of panel beaters about it, AAMI and RACV are the worst for hammering them on their prices and making them skimp on everything.

Dont blame you mate, we all (most of us) pay our premiums each and every year and to have the insurance company kick crap in ours faces is purely not on. Hope you get it all sorted out

should have pushed for it to be written off.
your lucky to get a repaired car to feel the same as it did before the accident.

all insurance companys are the same aami, cgu, raa/ racv.. its what the trade is coming too.. fix the car quickly and cheap.. and if they are new panels, i bet they are taiwanese repro ones..
a car will never be the same after an accident

gotta say my limited experiences with claims and dhds running into my rear bumper I can't fault Allianz's handling of my claim they are prolly one of the only ones who still actually come out to assess not you try and work out how the hell your gonna it to them. Its little things like this that I remember when my policy is due for renewal.

S3SR - sounds like you got used to the rental too much. What you have described is pretty much standard falcon, IMO.

Also, how come they didn't replace the tickford suspension and BA airbox? Didn't you let them know of these mods? If you didn't, then it's on your own head that the car is like it is, not the insurance company. Had you been honest with them in the first place, everything would have been replaced - either that or you would have had to go with someone like Shannons. Funny how non-disclosure comes back to bite isn't it? You're probably lucky they considered that you have insurance at all, due to your non-disclosure of mods.

damage money wise 10k car was agreed valued at 15.5

JC, i think your right about me getting use to the rental cars...the falcon is a ALOT smaller car thats for sure, my doors open in the garage now

but everything from airbox to momo gear knob, even the scuff plates they know about..... a while back i actually went to the office for some reason, explained what i had done, they came out to have a look i explain all is genuine and designed for the AU.. they listed them as accessories, i can understand why they couldnt get the tickford snorkle though.....but i did jack the car up just before... everything like the headlights, headlight protectors even the AU airbox looks and even smells new....some still have the part sticker on them.....may also explain why no BA airbox....ford prob said it wont fit

anyways ive had my little hissy fit.....i'll get the car as good as i can, then trade on something else

ill call on monday and sort the rest of it out

Very happy with Allianz. Had mine hit a few times (I was starting to think it was jinxed) and they came to the party quite well. They chased up people who thought they could simply walk away after trashing my car. Got my excess refunded in every case and I was very happy with the repairs (Selective Crash repairs Brooklyn Vic).
