Angry Remote locking assistance

Hi Guys. I'm still in trouble with my AU 1 remote locking ,when I try to teach the new remotes the good book says to turn key to acc., press the rear window switch 3 times and the door locks will cycle to tell me that it is in learning mode. What is my problem when the locks don't cycle to advise that it is in learning mode ??? Everything else seems OK .The original remote still works OK. This one is driving me nuts. Thanks I J Cam

Owners Manual info.

To train keypads.

1. Switch the ignition from the off (0) to accessory (I) position.
2. Press the rear window demister button 3 times within 5 seconds. The door locks will cyle to indicate that the system is in the learn mode.
3. Press the 'UNLOCK' button on each of the keypads in turn. Turn the ignition OFF. The dorrs will cyle to indicate that the keypad is trained.

So at what point do you get stuck? Did the demister button actually work?

Unhappy

Hi Blueprint When I press the rear demist button I can hear a click, assume this is a relay, each time. There is no cycling of the doorlock buttons after pressing 3 times in 5 seconds.I understand that cycling tells us that the unit is in "learn mode", thats as far as I get,no cycling therefor no "learn mode". Does that make sense. Thanks I J Cam

Well I can only assume you have the ignition in the right spot and the doors are closed... also sounds like the demister is working correctly...Well it has me stumped, but atleast i tried :P

But are all the Remotes the same ??

Could you have gotten a ED-EL remote by mistake ??

EF and EL remotes work on AU's. Apparently EB2-ED dont.

Car should still go into learn mode regardless though.

Make sure you are only pressing it 3 times as in:
On-Off-On, not turning it On/Off 3 times.
Because the first time I did it I got confused and turned the demoistor On/Off like so:
On-Off-On-Off-On-Off which does not work

Try holding the button down for a while.
In for .5 sec
Out for .5 sec
In for .5 sec
Out for .5 sec
In for .5 sec
Out

Are all your doors closed? Is there any problems with the door locks? Do you have an aftermarket immobiliser? It may need to be disabled prior to trying the relearn.
