time for a god news post folks
Found a mechanic today that is not only happy to work on the RS but dose a great job at a fair price. I have always wondered about the set up & jetting of the standard webber so after looking around I left the esky with Marques Automotive in Lismore who inspected, rejetted & reset the carb for me making quite an improvment in performance as well as compleating the job, under the quoted time |

just tuned the carb as i asked, the timing was ok as i have just fitted a xr3000 electronic ignition wich dose away with the points. i try to do as much as i can myself cause i beleive with a bit of knowledge and a manual you get a better job. the trick is knowing what to take on yourself & what not. i just don't know much about carbys

If you are serious about tuning your car properly, go to a Dyno. :

good for you mate . i'm glad you found a good mechanic though and your happy.
it's hard to believe though that your happy because a mechanic actually wants to do his work. !!!! it's kinda like like going to mcdonalds and being happy that you got a quarter pounder. . a mechanic shouldnt have to be happy to work on your car . anyhow . i know what you mean though . he sounds like he likes his job , and he should , anything less is not good enough. cheers |
