Default Hi, introduction and a few questions.

First off, Ive been hovering around the forums checking out the FG spy shots for the last 6 months. Getting a falcon for a first car seemed a little out of reach until now, so this is a little about me

The names Ben, live on the Central coast and i'm 19 years and far from matured, My old man is the used sales manager for the local dealers, prior to that he worked at Australian Fleet Sales... If you have had anything to do with AFS, dont hate me :P

Dad told me he traded in a 2001 black SR falcon (with black leather, IRS, only 90,000ks, 12 months rego, 1 owner for $5,000.)
So, if I can get a loan to cover the cost its mine. At the moment I pay my mum and dad $20 per week to use there car when I need it

Im only working casual at Dick Smith, but I have been working with in the company for over 2 years, and clear $150-300 per week, and plan to be a car sales person.

So now that Ive gotten all that covered here comes the questions

1. What would be needed to put an au III xr front on the au sr III?

2. Can I use the SR bonnet or will I need to get one of the XR bonnets with the lower dip in the middle of it? If that is the case I may as well get one with the BA buldge. How do the fiberglass bonnets go up against carbon fiber as far as weight and strength are concerned?

3. Is there anyone that manufactures this as a kit?

4. how dose the sohc go up against the ba dohc with the same mods applyed to them both? This has little to do with what I plan to do, more out of interest then anything

So, If you got through all of that thanks!

you'll need a bonnet headlights bar blinkers and bonnet catch . don't get a glass of carbon fibre bonnet they flex too much better with a glass bulge glassed onto a steel bonnet. a guy on ebay does the complete bonnet ready to for for about 480 mine arrives tomorrow ;) . as for the bar a good option it the fibresports ( site sponsor http://www.awcinfo.com/secureshop/ca...php?cat_id=299 ) XR50 bar this is my car if you want to see one http://www.aufalcon.com.au/cgi-bin/i...act=item&i=343. don't try to save on fitting and painting. you get what you pay for
welcome to the forum and good luck with the car

You wouldn't have a link to one of those auctions would you? That sounds awesome! So all in all, how much would fitting, prep and painting cost? I'm hoping I can have all of that done (including the cost of parts) for $2000, but the chances of that happening are starting to look very slim. Time to start saving... again

I thought it did have IRS on the SR series 3 as an option, but it looks like I was wrong, as the guy that traded the car in had selected every optional extra but the v8. Ohwell

I think the only other car apart from Ghia XR and T Series you could get IRS on was 'ESP' there was/is a member on here with one but not 100% sure if its factory

After seeing my car again (its still at the dealership), I'm starting to like the stock bumpers and have decided to keep them the way they are. I still want the bonnet buldge but couldent find any for the s3, but I did find this http://ssv.com.au/product.php?BS33.

I could keep my stock bumpers, pick up on of these bonnet sections from Sydney for $209 and pay around $800 to have it fitted and painted. That way, I get a good looking bonnet without waisting all my cash on SHOW and have some left for the GO!

Oh, and as for the car not having ISP, its not that big of a loss. The only racing I will be doing will be at WSID, and if anything ISP will slow me down (its about 50-60kg extra).
