Default IRS shock mount Q

Real quick question, I did a search and couldn't find the answer.

The centre nut at the top of the mount, is that supposed to be tight? I am pretty sure it is but I just found mine to be loose.

Yes mate, supposed to be tight. Put an allen key in the head of the shaft and tighten the nut OR just use an air gun if its out of the car

Sorted. With help from Shaynet and a little of my own ingenuity I think I have fixed it. Shayne informed me that the mounts that I have used (Ford ones) have a slightly different design to them than the original units causing the securing bolt to not be able to grab the thread properly as the new mount allows the shaft of the strut to come through further. With the car still on the ground I was able to get a shifter on to the shaft while getting a ring spanner onto the nut to undo it. After that is was simply a case of using 3 std thickness washers to space the bolt up a bit so I could tighten it all up properly. Problem solved.

Yes, sorry for the bum steer. The Koni's on the T Series have the allen key hole in the end of the shaft but the Munroes have the flat end
