Oh everyone is so deluded….

FPV may be testing a supercharged V8....
I doubt that they will be bringing out a ‘charged V8 GT-HO…. its not financially viable for them to do it…

Not sure if anyone here understands how business works, but generally car makers go out there to build and design cars that MAKE THEM MONEY….
not to provide a safer vehichle, or a more economical vehicle, its all about MAKING money….

How many people that would love a GT falcon (old or new) actually will ever own one? 1 in 10, 1 in 100?? Probably more like 1 in 1000… (or more?? REALIST?)

So why would they go and develop a car that has mind-blowing power and stats when nobody will actually buy the thing…

Look at the W427…. weren’t we all super excited when that came out at the motor show… ooohh yeah wicked fast 7litre commodore… i’d buy that for $150k… they were gonna make 427 of them… ($64million if all sold)… instead they only made 130 odd ($19.5million)… bah, only missed the mark by $45million…

its all in the figures….

I’d love to see a supercharged GT… or the re-birth of the GT-HO (40th anniversary of the phase 3 May 2011)… but it just won’t happen…

God you can go and by an XW/XY GT now for less than $100 grand…. if ya gonna go buy a new falcon for $100k at least check out the old ones…. they’ve got character and charm…

And for investment value??? Hardly.... Lets see how many people that snapped up the BF Cobra GTs make HEAPS of cash on their investment.....

I’ve said my piece….

If they can keep it under $100k and 200 units they would sell no worries, I doubt it will be as extreme as the WD40 so no need for a $155k falcon, also another thing that occured to me all GT-HO's were followed by a Phase #, correct me if I am wrong? Will this tradition continue???

Good Point SVTVNM - technically it SHOULD be a Phase 5....
Cos the XD was an aftermarket thing....

But if you remember reading the Wayne Draper article in AMC magazine... you may recall seeing a blue XA/XB coupe with PHASE 5 stickers along the underside of the door....

*POP* there goes the lid on the can of worms......

Oh I am sick of www.drive.com.au, www.goauto.com.au, www.carsales.com.au - Why are they trying to make up rumors of a 5.8L Coyote V8? Has anybody (worth listening to) ever said Ford was developing a 5.8L version? No! But they keep insisting there will be one. Are they losing readers, and just trying to keep people going to their websites?
Look, i am not against the idea of a 5.8L DOHC V8, but it is just unsubstantiated. Ford's big V8 is the 6.2 - and it is not based on the Coyote.

If they do build it, they should build 351 of them
