Hey guys,
Does anyone have the tutorial that was on AUFalcon.com previously regarding how to remove the bumper? JC made two references to it but it isn't there.. I assume it was lost when the site got upgraded. Those things on the plastic guard liner, are they like clips or screws? Thanks again |

ok, you have to remove your head lights, as there is a screw or bolt holding the bumper on under them, you then pull the plastic guards off in the wheel arch, just get a screw driver , slip it under the plastic and yank the plastic screws off, and if you have the plastic stone guard under the car as well you have to remove that also as there is plastic screws the same in the inner guards holding it on also
hopes this helps cheers

They are push in clips - usually called xmas trees. Prise them out with screwdriver or cut them off with side-cutters. They are cheap to replace. Places like Repco have them if you don't want to pay Ford prices.

im pretty sure you dont have to remove the headlight... i thought you have to remove the front bar to get the headlights our... (because the bar overlaps the bottom of the headlights...) as far as i remember all you have to do is get to the 2 nuts at either side wheel arch (that you have to move the wheel arch guard to get to, move not completely remove)
Cheers Cam

wrong wrong wrong frd906... have some lunch... ...
T3man, for further refrance, they are called scrivits... alltho there are 2 of the x-mas tree clips... AU bar is easy... 2x 13mm bolts both sides behind the splash shield... a rot of umm 7 or 8mm bolts under the bar... and bobs ya uncle... its a 5 min job not even... Don't bother trying to take lights out with bar on = fail and putting parts under stress... |

wtf, you go have some lunch mate,
you have the stone gaurd underneath which is connect to the bottom of the bar, also the wheel arch plastic, they have to come out and 2 bolts on either side in the wheel arch, simple mate

Yeah you don't have to remove the headlights to remove the bar. But otherwise frd906's instructions are pretty much spot on.
My front bar is drooping excessively though, and luckily I can take the headlights out easily anyway. That was the main reason why I wanted to take the bumper off. |

a average AU owner would no longer have a stone guard as the bastards keep breaking!
(if you dont have one..) only need to undo the wheel arch guards and undo the bolts as im under my car to often the stone guard just gets in the way so i've kept it off!!

I will eventually need to remove my front bar soon for some minor mods. I might get you to give me a hand Skotty when the time comes.
