They had Andy Garcia last week.
The big stars are finally cottoning on - get a chance to have some fun and plug your latest project to a global audience (FTA and internet) at the same time. Top Gear usually just trundle out a bunch of BBC personalities.

I reckon Tom Cruise will sit so far forward on the chair waiting for his time he will fall off the chair. I think Cameron Diaz will go OK around the track too.

Meh. Star in a reasonably priced car is the weakest segment of the whole show by far. Preferred they just axed it instead.

Have to agree there however recently I saw Cameron Diaz on the daily show with John Stewart talking about going around a race track, must be what she was talking about.
Will be interesting to see Tom Cruise there, just hope he's not a little prat jumping up and down on the couches like he did on Oprah.

I wouldn't mind seeing Charlize Theron - she's infinitely more beautiful than Cameron Diaz and she's a pretty good driver to boot.

Cameron Diaz looked mint in the mid 90s. But unfortunately the mid 90s isn't now.

Agreed 100%. More challenges footage and the news segment would be better.

While the times they put down were quite reasonable, was a fluff piece and learned absolutely nothing interesting about either of them.

The episode wasn't a complete wash though, the tribute to Senna was absolutely brilliant.

There is a difference between paying them out and not respecting them though.

Hammond in the F1 car a couple of seasons ago shows just how good those F1 drivers really are.

And makes me wonder who did the stigs time on that lap board, because only one of the F1 drivers has beaten him, speaking of which, I wonder what Schumacher's lap time "really" was..

Agreed.
I was waiting for Clarkson to have a go at Cruise for his scientology beliefs; especially after the interview with Mark Wahlburg where Tom's religion was mentioned and the remark met with raptures of laughter and applause.
Cameron Diaz's language was a real turn off as well, and the two of them fawning over each other was quite pathetic.
On the plus side, Tom's last corner was brilliant and we can look forward to Simon Cowell coming back and critiqueing the "little man".
Hey, for once, Hammond wouldn't have been the shortest bloke in the room.

The Bugatti Super Sport is absolutely brilliant, and congrats on the fastest time in a production model and the fastest time on the track.

Finally, the Senna tribute left me speechless for about 5 minutes. Absolutely brilliant work.

as good as this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc8uZGDAdQE

interestingly, the journo in this clip drove the Honda F1, and was within tenths of their regular test driver.

@LTD, I guess its a good thing Clarkson knows the line between comedy and just being downright rude to his guests.

To those saying the show would be better with this and better without that. Why do you think the show is so hugely popular? Because its entertaining, it appeals to a broader audience than your typical car show like "Wheels" etc. Why would they change a winning formula? Personally I like the banter before showing their laps and watching the stars try to make a fist of it.
