Default Undertray removal advise needed, AU XR8

Wanting to stop the common purge valve solenoid ticking problem by wrapping it in a rag (as others have described) when I go to remove the passanger wheel side front undertray the fixing screws (plastic heads by the looks of them) are burred and I cannot remove any of them. Anyone had this problem and how do you remove them without damaging the thread (hole) for the new screws? Sorry not mechanical. Also, anyone know where I can get some replacements to suit this undertray, preferably not Ford $$$$$$.

I Do all the hard work, get everything ready and the bit that should be easy stuffs everything up!

I generally use a drill bit about the size of the actual screw head and drill it in to it quickly. Then hopefully it will grab and you can reverse it out very slowly.

Otherwise do the same with a slightly larger drill bit and take the head off it and then use a bit of force to pop it all out.

Hope that helps. But they are absolute buggers and they rarely ever will screw out.

Any idea what size they are? I would rather have them before I drill the others out, and save me alot of running around.
