Default AU3 XR6 VCT Auto Hi Stall....

Hey boys and girls...

Converting my EF Wagon back to auto, but since it has an AU3 VCT engine and AU 3:45 diff gears, I thought it'd be better to ask here....

I'll be using a standard, probably EF (for strength.. seems to be the better of the choice) Auto BTR 4 speed, but I was also thinking of throwing in a High Stall at the same time...

What's the recommended/most preferred stall speed for most people? 3000rpm? 3500rpm?...

Also, anyone have any video's of a high stall fitted to an AU?

Cheers guys and girls...

With 3.45 gears I wouldn't go any higher than 3000rpm.

For the BTR, I wouldnt go any lower than 3000rpm. If I had my time again, 3500 minimum for sure. Thats with 3.9's....

Stock VCT I'd go no higher then 3k. Personally I'd go 2800 on a stock engine..

Yeah, I forgot stock engine, even if you went high, it would probably never get there.
Cam, you have become soft in your old age...

Yeah, I spent a fair bit of time doing gearbox swaps for some dude who kept killing 'em in his highstalled shizbox AU...

To the OP, is a manual conversion out of the question? Manual VCT in e-series wagon = sex

Already manual and VCT Cam

Has been for over a year now too, but I need a car that can fit 4 people, 4 or 6 spare wheels/tires, food/drinks, and also tow a car at the same time, hence why I was thinking of going back to auto...

I'm not too fussed, but as long as I've still got performance, along with practicality IDGAF. Might just look into a HD towbar and Trailer Brakes for the Fairlane

Cheers guys. I've considered it, I think I'll just stay manual, and like above, I'll just get a HD towbar, and electric brake setup installed onto the Fairlane...

Yeah, you wouldnt want a big stall trying to tow any decent weight. I remember trying to tow 1/2 m3 of soil with the cam, 3.9's and 3k stall. It wasnt moving till it was doing around 4500rpm, lol.
