Default MB stereo stopped working - any advice?

So the partners MB tdci stereo unit has stopped responding!
Turn the car on, time is shown on stereo screen (not normal) normally stereo comes on instantly.

Have turned unit on and off few times.
Dash screen shows faded out options for radio, cd, phone and so on then after much lag it slowly becomes unfaded, however, we can not get the radio stations to work or the cd or the USB. It continues to say "loading" each time we select that option such trying to put fm on or USB or cd.

Am getting terribly fed up with returning to the dealership with both of our Mondeo for fault after fault!

Any suggestions?

With accessories on, motor not running, press and hold the on button for about 20 - 30 seconds. This should reboot the system and fix the issue until next time. The dash display may go blank during the reset.

In my MA Mondeo with Sony system the unit can be reset. With the unit off press and holding the power button for around 15-20 seconds. Unit will power off. Power on and see if that fixed it.
