It is a problem for people over about 6"2, in getting your legs under the wheel, the wheel does need to go up 1 more notch.
Having said that it is probably the price you pay for the I6 motor as Holder would have a different set up for the V6 and the room that this allows.

Not sure about the 2300kg tow rating (i think they're still 1600kg) but they (FPV) did make a limited edition pursuit ute along side the GTF...but you will be lucky to get one now as they're probly all sold as there were only 120 utes made.

194cm and the whole FPV cluster is visible. No, I don't lay the seat back (gangsta style) either.
Though the cluster visibility issue may be more closely related to a leg or body length/size relationship. Some of us (like me) have long legs and arms... Food for thought, though I do agree the wheel would be just perfect for me around 10-15mm higher. Last edited by Taily; 10-08-2014 at 10:53 PM. |

I'm 5'10" and I've complained in many posts about the poor driving position in this car, until today. I nailed it, finally. It's more comfortable overall, I don't feel like my back is being forced into the steering wheel but I can keep my hands at 9+3 on the wheel right through the turn without stretching. I have a better angle of attack on the pedals which means I can smash through the gears much much faster. My hands also don't touch my legs at the bottom of the wheel rotation as they were before. The problem was the seat base was up too far at the front. I lowered it a fair amount, and adjusted the rails and backrest to suit. I still need to test how well it holds me in under very heavy braking, because it does seem quite flat in the base, but for now I'm happy.
It shouldn't be this difficult to find a good driving position, but it is somewhat possible. I have the wheel all the way out and up however, which doesn't seem right considering my average height. It's been mentioned countless times before but the floor to seat height is not the problem, it's the wheel height. The whole steering column needs to come up, which would bring up the dashboard. Low door sills add to the perception of sitting high. On the plus side, the visibility is awesome! |

I'm 6'4", no problems with seat & wheel, seat is put as low as it goes and as far back, wheel pulled out as far as it goes, absolute perfect for me.
On the contrary most other cars have my legs cramped up, seat doesnt go back enough etc. falcon has always been most comfortable for me. Sick of the seat story, People have bought into motor media nitpicking, even still discussing this. Aust motoring media are just desperate to find things to bring the falcon down, let's talk about the seating and starter button again. wheel has reach and rake, seat has all the movements to customise to your height, play with it until you get it right for you, not that hard

On the Ford website it says that the 6 cylinder can tow 2300kg for a braked trailer when fitted with the heavy duty towbar.

Looked awesome, DRLs are great. Was an XR6 ecoLPi ute, so didn't get to see the sedan rear end sadly.

I feel hypocritical posting this but- hey, how about the next Post is ACTUALLY about the next Falcon! Not a picture of an inch of it's nose or a joke about a picture. There has literally been three or four pages of absolutely nothing on here. It's the FF Equivalent of Seinfeld

nothing wrong with Seinfeld!
as mentioned before this thread is about all things next-gen Falcon, and that includes comparisons with the current gen, and inevitably the opposing team's product. still on track as far as i'm concerned, and i'm sure we'll have more pics soon enough. |
