Hmmmmm well i will still have my two Menace BA's... might buy a Mustang if the wife approves of a manual and it comes in Orange ?
Otherwise the next step logically will be find an Onyx Black EB GT manual then probably an Silver over Charcoal XE ESP and into my twilight years another Brambles Red XW Phase II like i had for my first car... My BA Racecar will probably still be in the garage after i have spent another 100K on it and the daily BA i currently drive will go to my grandson... |

True, I wouldn't say no to a nice BF GT parked in the drive!

I haven't had a tough slog at work. I haven't been since you made your last Friday thread.
As for the question, Same as I had before, Ranger. If I wanted a decent sedan id go a 300c. Or maybe another American sedan if they bring it here. Euro epuld be nice, but cost too much. |

I can see myself in a new Ranger Wildtrak or XLT as a great tow car/daily driver in the future.

I think Chrysler provides the closest to the Falcon format, american based, RWD, V8, performance.
I tend to buy cars 5 years old and keep them for about 10 years, so conceivably I will be buying a 2015 FG XR8 in 2020 and replacing it in 2030. I have time to consider my options!

I'll definitely be keeping my Wagon, very very long term.
Would love to own more nice AU's in future, as well as older Aussie Fords. As for a brand new vehicle... honestly, there aren't many around I care for. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 is nice, as is the new WRX STI, and I'd love a SVT Raptor or just about any F-series, and I like the new Mustang too. |

Can't the pain be randomly distributed over the week so it leaves less of an emotional mark

Speak for yourself!
Ford makes a range of great cars. If you can't see that, then it's your loss.

Im dissapointed with ford for dropping the falcon and trying to feed us a p.o.s fwd in its place so I may not buy a new ford ever again.
I do like the Ranger though |

Seeing as it's happening, what does everyone plan to do in regards to their next new car? After the falcon GT-F/s that is.
I'm thinking a nice sub 10yr old Subaru daily of course ignoring the cosmetics of them, and a low k GT-F (of course it will actually be a gt-f when i buy it in 10yrs) as my second/weekender. I currently have a suzuki sierra and EB so it will basically be the same thing but 20yrs newer ;)

Not everyone shares that sentiment. I may have a BF2 GT but my dirty old AU1 Forte gets driven on an equally regular basis. Not because its more thrifty, or less consequential if I lose it, but because I enjoy driving it. As for a cars worth vs restoration costs, well if one wants to be a sheep & base their cars value in accordance with the market, as opposed to what the car is worth to them personally, then that's their prerogative. |

290kw to 175kw.... Sometimes I miss the power of the fg, but mostly I just like the fairlane. I find it's nicer to drive, more comfortable and sounds 11ty times better, and it's more economical. Fg looked better, but I reckon the fairlane stands out more. |

you imply that everyone on the site is a boy racer that wants a large sedan with a straight 6 to do some laps around the local hangout spots ive got a EF sedan just to get me to work, but i found out real quick travelling with a couple kids that boot fills up real quick hence why we bought a 4WD and no not a ford. the fourbie is alot slower the the falcon, chews a crapload more fuel, and i love it and is 10 times more functional than any powerful large sedan, and thats why they have gotten the chop and been relagated to a P plater's special. |

Well I think I will be driving a Falcon, my XB Coupe is now 40 years old, was my daily driver close to 30 years ago now and is better today than when it was new.
Just started a ground up rebuild on an XB GS V8 Ute also 40 years old, and it will be my daily driver in about 2 years time, then there is the XB GS 351 Fairmont with the works waiting in my shed also 40 years old..it's turn will be after the ute. I have a BF GT Mk2 6 speed manual, stored away as well, I think I have enough Falcons to see me out of this world. In the mean time might still pick up an XB GT, or may be an XD ESP, or an EB or EL GT if the opportunity arises. I like a 4x4 for family duties, also helps me get to camping spots, fishing spots, transport the dogs and tow car trailers. H3 is doing a great job at the moment, Toyota 4x4 or Ranger might be in the future.
