Wow. Talk about biased.

Why are they comparing a 505hp 475ftlbs Z06 to a 320hp 273ftlbs 911 Carrera? They're hardly competitors.

Compare it to the 911 Turbo.... which in 996 form (now 6 years old) managed 3.7 sec to 100km/h and 11.8 down the 1/4. 192mph to the Z06's 198. Suddenly the Z06 isn't that fast anymore.

And the new one will be even faster.

F430's 4.0 sec to 60mph is the official Ferrari claim for the manual model. The Ferrari F430 F1 coupe has already been tested to hit 60mph in 3.5 seconds and go down the 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds. And it handles a damn sight better too. I'd expect it to for the price difference. It can go 197mph. Corvette is 198mph.

And the 911 Turbo S they're talking about walks all over it at, well, everything. It's just barely, *barely* faster then the 2000 911 Turbo. The Turbo S is basically a GT2 down 9kW. It will eat a Z06 for breakfast.

I've read too much extremley biased American crap about that car. I'm starting to hate it more then I hate the E60 BMW M5. And that's saying something.

How do they get Porsche and Ferrari beating performance? They stick an engine that is close to twice the size of a 911 and over 60% bigger than a Ferrari.

Umm, price perhaps, and the fact that they are both sports cars??? Sure in other markets the $$$ relationship will be a bit different and make it more equal than the Porsche but it is not Chev's fault the Porsche is more expensive.

It's only cheaper in America.

And regardless of price, they do not compete. Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo are competitors. The Carrera S competes with the regular C6. The Carrera does not have a Chevrolet opponent.

You cannot compare cars solely on price. FPV F6 Typhoon vs BMW 320i isn't exactly fair is it? A 100kW 4-banger vs a 12 sec super sedan? It's quite obviously M5 competition, despite the $160,000 odd price difference.

And when you compare the Z06 to its rightful competitors, it gets stomped. Badly.
