My vin plate is CG76GM Can anyone please tell me what it means and help me better understand the car. |

D= 1500 or 1600 (pretty sure the 67' early cars were 1500) Z= 3 speed auto Y= Radiant bronze Sorry couldn't find the trim code in my list.

Sido or serial number yes. It may or may not match the engine. Early Cortina's were all over the place with numbering and vin plate variations and information.
Sounds like an interesting car, you don't see may in that colour nor bucket seats and autos.
