Smile Cheeky thieves have stripped Premier Anna Bligh's limousine of all four of its wheels

THE wheels have fallen off the Bligh Government.

Cheeky thieves have stripped Premier Anna Bligh's limousine of all four of its wheels.

Ms Bligh's chauffeur walked outside his Brisbane home early one morning last month to pick the Premier up for a trip to flood-ravaged Grantham only to discover all four wheels on her luxury Holden had been pinched while he slept.

A complaint was made to Queensland Police about the early morning raid on the state's "first car" but it is unknown whether the thieves knew the vehicle belonged to Ms Bligh.

An insurance claim also has been lodged for the wheels, which were valued at almost $3000.

Another vehicle at the premises was also broken into around the same time.

A spokeswoman for the Premier yesterday confirmed the burglary.

"On the evening of April 29 the Premier's vehicle was parked in the yard of her driver's house," she said.

"At approximately 2am the wheels were stolen."

With a limo and no wheels, the Premier was forced to take an alternative vehicle to Grantham.

In 2006, then education Minister Rod Welford had his ministerial limo stolen from his carport after he left it unlocked and with the keys inside a storage pocket.

Sorry..no pics...but why no wheel nut locks?????????
