It is always match the parts, bigger is often not better, everything must work together - airspeed through the heads is critical, big ports suck, the right sized ports win.

spot on. often people who don't understand an engine fall for the hype of the bigger port flow number, the better. this isn't always correct, often otherwise
you can flow a 4" sewer pipe on a bench, it'll flow 1000cfm.. doesn't mean it will make more power, or better yet ET faster in the car.
