It's not like competitors don't have comparable engine sizes. Amarok is a 2 litre, and Triton has a 2.4. Does Hilux also have an entry level 2.4 below the 2.8?
Either way they are catering for these people by still having the 3.2 available. Over time i'm sure these people come around to better performance, economy and vastly improved refinement and at that point the 3.2 might get ditched.
They should have the F150's 3 litre V6 for anyone that wants a bigger engine. But who knows if that will ever happen.
